So is that a hooker (or two) and a halfback on the bench?

If the half can cover other positions or slot in at lock to have other creative options , then it can work.

Naden for Toa, swap Sullivan and Fainu

Do we start Tupou in 2024? It’s contentious given he is leaving in 12 months. I would still think he is our best winger ahead of Naden, To’a, Nof, Staines.

Hoping Solomon Alaimalo or Alex Lobb can really make a fistful of their opportunities and demand a spot.

Been thinking about that too. We can even apply that to Sullivan and fainu, rather than playing sezar. But I think to keep the culture, it needs to be best player for the job. Fullstop.

If we can release him early for cap relief, then maybe that's the answer.

Be interested to see if Tupou has got the high ball under control.

He's going to get tested thus year.

Wouldn't be surprised if Benji and Nofoaloma after a torrid time come to some new understanding where Nofo gets a new attitude and trains hard and is one of our starting round 2 wingers . With regard to Tupou its quite common when someone signs with another club for next year they don't fit in to the new coaches long term plans and deals are done for early release .
Hope we can pair Toa with Olam in the centers
Expect Latu to get the nod for no 6 as Benji will want a bit of "x" factor
Sezer will be no 7 as must have experience there
So my radical backline
1.Bula
2.Nofoaloma
3.Olam
4.Toa
5. Naden
6.Latu
7. Sezer
With Sullivan as bench utility
Admit a very big IF with 2 and 3

it’s a plausible theory regarding Nofoaluma, but this is Marshall’s first major test as coach. if he lets up and rolls over then it may send a poor message to the playing group. he’ll be advised by those around him to keep his foot on the throat you would think.

all of this said, the wing is absolutely a concern. aside from Staines, there’s no other certainty. Nofoaluma’s attitude is pathetic, Tupou is leaving and Lobb and Alaimalo are unknown quantities.

I do think Tupou will still be there Round 2, but it depends on how Lobb trials and whether Benji moves him down the depth chart given he’s departing.

Agree with everything you say but I was kind of hoping Nofoaloma is the one who rolls over and by that He completely changes his attitude because Benji keeps his firm stance
