Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

What can I say...?
Groat was 110kgs..but mostly flab unfortunately.Wasnt ready for the toughness of the NRL ..got smashed out of the game, despite his bulk
Do u think Galvins body shape wont be targeted?Risk is thrown to the wolves too early without the resilience to withstand the inevitable..and loses his confidence
and lost forever
If he plays NRL in 2024 of course he would be targeted as are any younger players stepping up to NRL.
I have complete confidence if and when he plays NRL that Benji and the coaching staff who see him almost every day will know if he’s ready or not.

good points except Sullivan and Sezer hav not played so Sullivan has not had the slightest chance to outperform Sezer .. kind of bugs me how Posters here are already writing Sullivan off ,, he is a STAR junior, he came here to play Attacking footy and has been putting in big time at training .. he is a natural half , tough and skilful as is Latu Fainu from what I have seen , and Galvin has all the necessary attributes to play almost anywhere except prop and Hooker .. if they were all to hit their straps and play to their potential then we have 10 spots to play all of them in .. If Sullivan fires then he could easlily push Galvin and Latu into the centres with and Luai in the halves .. a really good 5/8 can always make a good centre and Vise Versa , especially if they have size and pace .. Wighton is an example of this , Jamie Lyon used to be able to do it as did Laurie Daley and Brad Fittler and also a 5/8 can play lock similar to Greg Bird and Scott Hill Jim Dymock , Jason Smith etc etc … a good Footy player can play anywhere , and Benji will pick the best 17 and I am absolutely here for it !! 🥰😙😁
I agree, You get some players who can switch from 5/8 to center and back. Have that versatility in them.

Why not move one of:
Fainu, Sullivan, Luai or Galvin to center.

or that 14th bench spot. Ben Barba owned that for the sharks and dogs.

Look we can't have 2 halfbacks, so one will have to be dominant. I was really worried we would get 4 great players for 2 positions. Meh, let it be a meritocracy and whomever doesn't perform go those extra spots.

Our kicking game with Brooks was horrendous. Whoever is saying he is good obviously has no idea….
Brooks should have been turned into a hooker 6 years ago , he found not steer the ship but he could defend , Robbie should have had him as his next in line then we would have gone and purchased a proper 1/2 , but I’m not a coach and non of them tried him at honker so who knows

Interesting thought...but he still had no vision or judgement of where the opportunities are,so we'd probably have done a mediocre job there as well

I think I am right , Mann from the broncos was 19 when he came into 1st grade and look how good he has gone , like benji says old enough good enough
Burton similar size, shape at 19 to Galvin and debut season was in the centres I think. Handled first grade from Day 1. If he has the mental capacity and skill he will handle it. Better to spend at least half a season in Reggie’s at least though… centres is a good way to introduce him to first grade.

Love to see Doeuhie put on 5kg and ball play in 13 as well…

I reckon Galvin will debut in the centres.

Yeah he's really going to have to up his game if he wants to live up to the high standards set by Luke f-ing Brooks. Come on, man.
I know what you mean but I think he was referring to the length of the kick, not the quality of the kick. Luke has kicked some balls into Petersham and Camden during games

You don't want to bulk Galvin up too much. I remember both Trent Barrett and Brad Fittler were much better players when they had less bulk. Keep him lean but strong. If he naturally grows well that's when you consider a move from 6, but until then he is a 6 and treat him as one I say.

Seen Dragons want a hooker and Raiders denied the release of Zac Woolford. Maybe we should offer Jake Simpkin in exchange for Either Lomax or Ravalawa?
Wouldn't mind a swap for Sloan. Could be great on the wing with his speed, size and athleticism and a good replacement for Tupou.

Lomax has reportedly been given the fullback role to start the season so Sloan could be a realistic trade option.

Defensively he’d be terrible…..

I feel like Staines and Lobb have potential to be our wingers moving forward. Staines next to Olam and Fainu/Sullivan/Seizer guiding them with Luai the following year. That could be something.

If anyone I’d like a Michael Molo for some bench depth. Especially with Blore departing.

Molo's an interesting choice and certainly not one on my radar. what you like about him?
