Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He certainly is knowledgeable about football but i dislike him and don't trust him at all,not just because of the illegal drugs in his players but after being suspended from coaching he still coached the same team but was doing it while being banned. If anyone should have been suspended for life it was him.
The most disgusting man in football imho
Scumbag who put results above the health of his players. One good thing has come out of him returning to coaching though. No more of his droning in the commentary box. He’s as boring as bat shit.

It makes me wonder if he’s going to be a figurehead, and the guy really driving the car will be Morris.
I think people underestimate the effect that Morris will have on the team. Benji started his apprenticeship with Bennett and I am sure one thing he learned from him was to make the most use out of the assistant coach as possible.

Benji knows what areas in the team will need improving and I am sure he spoke to Morris about how he could help before he even signed for us.

Someone said the other day that Flanagan wouldn't be dumb enough to take on Nofas' contract. All they would have to do is listen to a half of footy that he commentated on to change that opinion real quick.

He’s the most uninteresting, uncharismatic commentator I think I ever listened to. I shit on Blocker all the time, but at least he has personality. Flanagan is as engaging as unbuttered toast.

I don't really like Flanagan (and I admit I dont actually know the facts) but I feel he gets a disproportionate amount of blame for the peptides scandal.

The way it was reported if I recall correctly is he let Dank control the (illegal) supplements program. I don't think this would be too different to what any other coach would do. They would put faith in the bloke qualified to run that program because I guarantee no NRL coach would be qualified to do so themselves. He was made aware that something dodgy was going on and shut down the program and Dank was dismissed early.

So to this point it Flanagan's only fault is not directly overseeing a program that he would not be qualified to have any input in. Then he actually done the right thing in stopping it.

It could be argued that he should have reported that something untoward had happened to higher ups at both the club and NRL. But given he had already stopped the program what really is to be gained by doing so?

I agree with criticism for not complying with the stipulations of his ban. I also feel he was largely responsible for cap breaches at Cronulla and have just found him generally unlikeable in his media roles.

That’s the second article posted about this this afternoon. And both from a month ago. Theres nothing new regarding this. For all we know, it’s all blown over.
I don't believe it will be allowed to blow over unless Nofoaluma has met the standard required by the coaching staff. This was imo the most important issue in the article -

Marshall and his new-look coaching staff are trying to drive a new standard at the club and haven’t shown preferential treatment to the veteran winger.

Very well argued and I support each point raised.

He built up a good side very quickly, had them playing at optimum within their abilities and won a grand final with them.

They weren’t flash, it wasn’t pretty but he got it done.

As for media, I think most of the ex players/coached are useless.

A lot tend to slip into this tired groove of bears dancing on barrels. They get things wrong or are lazy.

I do like listening to James Graham tho he's a bit hard to unnerstand... Not many old Players do it well... Ryan Gjrdler speaks well and seems very natural.. As. Does Billy Slater Joel Caine a smooth talking con man could sell beef to indians
