Yeah the 3 warnings system is definitely a myth. My point is the letter he received was a termination letter, not a sanction. Seems the club is at the end of its tether with him and won't be issuing anymore sanctions.

I think there would be something in his contract re discipline issues

You know … I have been banging the table for many months about moving Nofo on … but to happen in these circumstances is unfortunate … I wish they could have moved him onto a UK Super League club instead and made it a little “cleaner”…

He used to be one of my favourite players back 5-6 years ago… he just got signed to a dumb deal that was too much money and two years too long …

The fact Noffa couldn't be contacted for 48 hours after leaving training with gastro goes to show he was keen for all this to come to a head and secure a payout. Expect an announcement that he has joined another club sooner than later. Great outcome for the club! The off season that keeps on giving....

He was always brought here to play centre

He can cover wing and fullback as well but centre is his position

Never seen a leading try scorer at an NRL club tarnish his legacy as badly as Nofa is doing right now.

Not a good look at all..... being told if he stayed at the club he wouldn't play NRL as they may not rate the standards he provides isn't worthy enough of a law suit. It's rugby league. Embarrassing.

Wish it would have been done cleaner too as you
said, at the very least had a club already lined
up for him to transfer to, however, true to form,
Nofa decided against it and didn't want to move
which would be absolutely fine if Stef & Pole
weren't beating him in time trials and he wasn't
out weeknights & hanging out smoking shisha.
Sad way to end it all, very sad way but he's very
much brought it upon himself. The cards that
have fallen this off-season are huge, absolutely
huge. We needed 2 rid ourselves of the board, CEO
and chair, we did it. Needed to get rid of our top
paid 10 year ball & chain in Brooks, we did it. We needed a marquee player and we got him.
Needed some outside backs and were desperate
for a centre so we got us one. All things considered
I'm very much looking forward to how this year
pans out, and how all these changes translate
into onfield success that we've been deprived of

Could be wrong but to my knowledge because there was a breach in the contract the $300,000 might not be taken out from the salary cap as it could be seen as a club expense.

Which could most likely mean the club just cleared Nofa’s whole contract of $500,000 a year off the books …… massive win for us if true.

Even if it did come onto the books it’s fully on this season giving a large chunk free for next season.

Would be awesome though if it didn’t hit either cap to help with the Stefano upgrade.

It’s hard not to like the direction we are heading.

We are making professional decisions, keeping things in house and making swift calls.

End of day though is how this impacts the W’s let’s hope it’s a start of improvement on that as well.

Good outcome. Nofa sounded like he was acting like a dick in order to leave the club. It's only going to affect himself in the end. He will be lucky to see NRL 1st grade on regular basis again and I'm guessing he'll be playing in the superleague comp in the next 2 years.

Not only WT top try scorer but also the top try scorer from the Wests Magpies of all time,only 1 player at Balmain Tigers has ever scored more Arthur Patten and that was a long time ago.
So out of both parent clubs only one player has scored more tries.Despire his poor attitude he has much to be respected for

It’s easy to turn a blind eye to any good Brooks did, it’s a bit harder with Noffa. When he’s on, he’s probably our number one ball carrier. First and only player in the clubs existence to score 100 try’s and it will be a long time before he will be surpassed. He’s in the record books, and that won’t change. Just a shame it’s turned out the way it has.

It wasn't $300K per season - it was a flat $300K severance payout.

But the sentiment is still correct given he was terminated for contractual breach and was therefore not entitled to a cent.

He leaves the club under poor circumstances much of it his own fault but will be one of only a very few select players who can honestly say that they have topped the try scorers for a first grade Rugby League club playing in the toughest competition in the world.
I wish him well except when he plays against us.
