If Lomax ever leaves the Dragons - I’m 95% confident he’ll end up here.

Been saying it for a while but the Lomax and Tigers links have been going on for a while.

I know Lomax’s dad and apparently Zac is pretty optimistic about 2024 with the Dragons but at one point in 2023 he was ready to leave under Hook, however if 2024 is similar to 2023 then I think he’ll push for the Tigers move.

Optimistic I can understand given new coach and all, but I still think their squad isn’t the best going into 2024. I don’t see them making the 8 I’ll be very shocked if they somehow do. But also if Lomax is moved to the wing given Flanno confirmed Sloan is Fullback and Bird is playing Centre, that’s an expensive winger and as I said earlier no smart club would have a player earning that much to play him on the wing.

Plus they’re trying to sign that player from Manly who’s another winger Christian Tuipulotu. It could very well shift Lomax to the bench as a utility. I think there’s a slight chance that Flanno may decide to let him go given the money he’s on. But I do agree if Lomax wants out or is forced out, I see him coming here.

He’s on big coin as well given to him before Flanno arrived. I can see him wanting to move him on for that alone. But whether he chooses to is still up in the air for now.

I think the tigers approach at that time may have increased his contract with dragons

It probably did, but it was before Flanno arrived. I don’t think they would have gone as high as they did if he was there at the time.

Well... He's a center three quarter.... It's not like hes a front rower or protective back rower or covering lock

A Sullivan for Lomax swap would be good.
But that whole "hey Sullivan, we don't have a halfback and so were going to punt our leading halves junior so Flanno Junior has a chance"... would rub him the wrong way.

Naturally us signing every free halfback in the comp probably rubs him the wrong way too.

We don't know what kind of side we have. Will Olam be a gun or a dud*. Will Sezer/Sullivan/Fainu Fire? or Fizzle?

My point, we won't know if:
our halves are guns or duds,
our centers are guns or duds,
even our wings, if Tupou can improve on a poor 2023 (sure moments of brillance, but moments) and if Naden or Staines will be a solid wing option.

The only known quantities in our side are:
Fullback, Bula
Hooker, Api
and a forward pack that kinda holds their own. Klemmer, Bateman, Pole... Love you guys.

I think we need a little more beef upfront. If I was looking to trade, I would talk to the Cowboys about swapping Sullivan for Hess or Luciano Leulia...(maybe?)....

Lets hold off signing anyone till we know who stands up and who needs replacing.

*I am a massive Olam fan, but I am open to the possibility of him not performing here like so many other signings not performing here. I expect him to RIP in but till we see it. ...
