OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

It depends on who/how they’re a standout.

Would you have played Rua in round 1 after he was a clear standout in his 10mins of rush time?
Rua did not stand out for me as he never showed the work ethic that’s required to be a decent number 9 at NRL level.
I thought Seyfarth was a stand out in trial 1 against the Warriors and thought Blore and Doueihi were the stand outs in trial 2 against the Raiders. Asitasi James also played very well in both trals.
None of tfem except Doueihi got a decent opportunity to play NRL until the second half of last season and I believe that was a team selection mistake.

Isnt that the whole point that people have been saying to you against your "if they shine in the trial they will get picked" campaign?

No...good form in a trial doesnt mean selection because there are a lot of other things that outweigh trial form....like in Galvins case, inexperience against men.

And the fact he’s a wet noodle.

No it points out that team selections were not done correctly in 2023.

You call me a misogynist, I'm baffled and ask why and your too weak to respond. Classic Misty, no idea

Seriously - now you have to be taking the piss surely Mrs Galvin!!

You have blinkers on and can only see the tall skinny kid with the shit Gladiator haircut!

Tallyn got a debut & a few games as a relatively skinny kid of the same age... but did not start the season on the bench ahead of Simpkin and rightly so!

Despite some touches of class - Da Silva was shown to be out of his depth especially physically on more than one occasion.

Bula got selected the first round he was eligible for NRL selection as a development player due to outstanding form on the training paddock - and never looked back...

Then Kit and Feledy also got a run in the last round.

I hope Galvin is not one of those who ends up debuting in round 25 or 26 just to blood him because the team are travelling so poorly - but history suggests that is the most likely scenario.

So trial form should be taken into consideration all year long?
Do I have it right
Care to expand on this a bit furhter?
Ink I can’t continue to answer silly questions.
How about we wait and see if anyone performs exceptionally well throughout the trials and wait and see who ends up in our NRL side come round 2.

But the coaching/selections were wrong last year because why exactly??

My argument is nothing to do with Galvin, it’s about the many so called experts on here who keep stating young players aged around 18/19 cannot be ready for NRL.
Geez the Roosters must be idiots for making the likes of Sualii and Walker NRL regulars at such a young age.
Maybe you can call Trent Robinson and tell him he knows nothing about player development.

Unlimited interchange, shame Latu has to sit
this one out. We have the benefit of watching
Canberra play before going up there & playing
them rd.2 Benji will probably wait until last minute
before naming a side barring a few positions

But no one is saying that Mate.
I think you miss understand why I’m countering.

Most are saying he will probably get a crack during the season. They want to give him a crack but under abit of duress on the body first.

Many have been listing Fainu, TDS & plenty of the kids in their 17 or fringe. They are all 18/19 or so.

You’re focus is heavy on Galvin & no one else really.

Why aren’t you pumping Fainu up? He is 18, was touted the next big thing by a mile and what 2mths older than Galvin but has been playing against the boppers for last 18mths on/off. Heck the dolphins coach said he is NRL ready and should’ve played him more at the world cup.

The reason people are backing off Galvin for the moment isn’t because the kid doesn’t have it it’s because plain and simply put they want him to be successful and in time he will be. Their is a view from various fans that have others infront that are more nrl ready, it’s his 1st big boy preseason and he hasn’t played up a grade really yet.

Time will tell, hope they all lift & perform because that’s one heck of a headache to have for a club like ours.

There only pumping Galvin up , because they think he will walk if not given a crack at 1st grade , if he is good enough he is old enough, let him do his talking on the park

It kind of goes without saying that 99% of what gets said on this forum is opinion based. No need for disclaimers. It should be implied.
The problem is half of these winos can't have a conversation about something without framing it as a pissing match. Anyone who says one thing invariably has some howling geriatric ready with the piss and vinegar to hose them down. It's become a worse place to talk about the Tigers than literally anywhere else online. All that's left here are the wraiths and their rattling bones. Any reasonable new members who shows up with a wide eyed disposition and their Tigers number 1 flag is forced to put up with a gaggling band of morons that would usually be kicked out at 6pm from their local when the real customers show up.
