No argument here mate, it’s still a troublesome area unless a few of them jump up out of the ground. Silly article/ non-issue about what I suspect is a minimum wager to accommodate Luai.

The sponsorship “will Lee extend or not” will be the next drama to play out at the “embattled club”…

The Dragons seemed to transition from their main sponsor to another one without much drama recently …
 
Could Richardson be sanctioned by the N.R.L in regards to the signing of a virtually unknown player from q cup.
What about Flanaghan, Cleary and Walters signing their sons. Or the N.R.L doing nothing when our players are kicking stones to get out of their contracts early on the advice of their managers.

Look, I don't mind mending bridges with Lee H...

The more I think about the last situation. Lee was passionate, but out of his depth managing an organisation he wasn't used too.


If Lee wants to sponsor us, have a Corporate box office and cheer the Tigers... Great! Sydney FC have learned to embrace Unkle Frank's love. Easts have learned to love Unkle Nick. Lee provides access to corporate sponsorship and if we are to make a play at the next SBW or Ezra mam we are going to need people like Lee.


As long as Lee isn't involved with key decisions, I don't care. Smoke a peace pipe, burn some rubber doing 8's in the parking lot and win a damn premiereship!

Lee:

Led the club to its worst era in its history was most likely the most inept and useless Chairperson in the games history based on results.

If he’s true to his passion, he will continue to sponsor us without a seat at the table, like many other sponsors.

And he can cross his fingers the current emergency junta screw it up and he can plot a return in a decade or so.

But we are not desperate for his cash in any shape, way of form.

We have plenty of sponsors ready and more once we become competitive.

Hes sponsoring a Manly feeder team anyway. Doesn’t understand public perception of a conflict of interest. Very basic stuff.

Nothing personal, I’m sure he’s into good things somewhere along the line.

I just hope he finds a hobby he’s good with, enjoys and sticks to it.

Maybe travelling.

He cuts a dashing figure, hopping into his Ferrari in his Fedora.

A man of the world, Monaco calls, St Tropez or the Riviera. Champers, Caviar and vintage Cuban cigars.

The ownership should never want to self-sponsor...

When Norths Leagues became the Bears sponsor it was the beginning of a very slippery slope!

Citibank (due to their proximity) saved Norths from themselves in the mid-90s while they had a team with the likes of Fairleigh, Larson, Moore, Florimo etc... and provided decent sponsorship but at a cut-price rate.

That was just before the BBX debacle - where sponsorship dollars were guaranteed in goods/services of equivalent value - NOT cash!

And that effectively bankrupted the football club!

They worked out pretty quuckly - but way too late - that players wanted to be paid in cash - and not consumer goods...

And the blue logo on the jersey was an abomination...

He has cash and provided he doesn’t want power over the club then have no issues he stays involved / bridge gets built again.

Mending a bridge is short sighted though in some ways. The bigger key for us is winning, if we do that then talking / reliance of individual backers goes away. It will create competition and remove the leverage a sponsor could have powerwise on our team.
