Part of the reason I think he will be a big topic on here this year is due to reflection on this club.
If he goes alright, holds his own, wins the odd game but nothing extraordinary, we can control the narrative that he was stale here and needed a change of scenary, wish him and Manly well etc...
If he clicks with DCE and Tommy and has a stellar season, all the talk will be that we mis-used, mis-treated him for years and he will become a sympathetic character that everyone praises for having the balls to leave this toxic club.

To cry that he is now irrelevant to this place is naive. To whine that this thread should be shut down is stupid. He will be discussed on here a lot this year.

Of course Brooks will go alright if Manly manage to keep their top squad on the park just like if we had the Turbo's and DCE playing with us when he was here his career highlights would probably be vastly different. We all know his qualities and his weaknesses and he made a smart move to go to a team that will accommodate them well.

lots of ifs and hypotheticals. It’s apples and oranges. If we had SOO half back full back and 2nd rowers next to brooks I’d say he would have performed better at tigers.

I saw in the headlines Brooks gave Ben Turbo a peach of a short ball to put him in to score...
Can only imagine it would have been a similar ball to the ones our nuftys couldn't hold or ran the wrong line on.

Look… he hogged the halfback spot for years telling everybody it was ‘his’ team while knowing all along he couldn’t cut it as the chief playmaker.
I’m not sure how he conned coaches into believing it too or that we just didn’t have anyone to replace him (poor recruiting).
He’ll go ok in a secondary role doing more running… same as he would have here if we had a decent number 7.
