Live music - Bands you have seen/Are planning to see

I'll be buying them, have no doubt but there was a time when Pearl Jam fought high ticket prices.

The changing music industry doesn't give bands much choice though.

Yup, just put in for 2 Syd 2melb. 1200 I didn’t expect to spend today. Is what it is.

They are the best live band I have seen, so definitely worth it and considering I have travelled overseas on a number of occasions just to see their shows then I shouldn't complain.

100%. Just quite a jump from last tour. Wasn’t considering not going. Get FA out of 10c anymore so better get them

Gee, the grey cells are working overtime. Where to begin?

SCG: David Bowie Thin White Duke Show - Then the big double header Santana & Fleetwood Mac - pretty wasted by the time FM got on tho

Hordern Pav: Wishbone Ash, Procul Harum, The Police, Santana, Hall & Oates (it was a prezzie for my girl) The Knack (not a very long concert - Sherbert were better!), Roxy Music, Uriah Heep, 10cc, Focus - yodellodellodello!

State Theatre: Talking Heads, Split Enz & later Crowded House. Jethro Tull - back in the day when the Unions forced International Acts to use Aussie acts as their warm-up act - This bloke walked on stage dressed in a safari outfit with pith helmet and introduced himself as some Lord from the UK who wanted to play some of Jethro's favourite choons. From the moment he sang "Wondering Aloud" we were blessed to hear Ian Anderson perform the best acoustic set ever. I understand that JT paid the Aussie act for not performing! Chris Isaaks played for well over 2 hours then set up a table outside the dress circle to sign autographs - the queue went down George Street!

The Civic Hotel - $1 per night M-F Mon Anne Kirkpatrick band (Slim Dusty's daughter, Tues Mysex (Compoot Compoot Compoot Compoota Games), Wed Flowers (Then Icehouse) Thurs Midnight Oil, Fri Cold Chisel ($2 cos they had an album out!)

Ent Cent: Supertramp, Simple Minds

Opera House: KD Laing

Sydney Uni Bridge Theatre: John Martyn - Legend!

Plenty of outdoor events Rocktober down at the Opera House - can't remember who played but I can remember feeling sorry for the dude inside the portoloo that was tipped over!
