Remember we beat the raiders by 30 in a trial last year!!! I stupidly thought that would equate to a good year.

And Manly by 40 the year before that I think lol.
Could have had a better result today but this
counts for nothing in 3 weeks. Buds edge got
torn up with starford & Staines, change that...

maybe. Some other issues also;
our forwards seem unable to win a collision to give our halves time.
we dont have a 13/link man that can hold up the middle defence.
our halves arent a running threat themselves
nor does the team have any shape to create space for the outside men.
our fullback has no passing game. So despite being an elite ball runner, opposition defence can converge on him.
our outside backs dont seem capable of physically overpowering their opposite numbers when working with limited space.

but the attack might be better than the defence

They are going to try every conceivable combination of halves between Galvin, Sezer, Fainu and Sullivan …

Hope 1 can work … not confident about Sezer after today … and Sullivan is not an organiser … let’s pray for Fainu and Galvin ..

Wouldn’t read into a trial game 3 weeks away from the season. Not one set play all game in attack is by design.

Lachlan Galvin looks like the third best player on this team after Bula and Api. He has to start. Throw him in he needs experience will partner Luai next year.

Our outside backs are ordinary and need upgrading... hopefully this is done over the next year. Ready for our 2025 season.

As disheartening as that is to say, 2024 could be another dark year.

That Dragons left edge is the best in the comp. They'll run over most teams this season. We'll compete in most games but we're not top 6. Lobb in for Staines would help. We'll be better than last year but by how much?

Defence can be fixed with a better attitude.
Clunky boring predictable attack is a big problem. Unless you have elite halves which we do not have, you need more than just the halves to get their hands on the ball and offer attacking threat, such as the 13 and 1. We currently do not have a 13 or 1 with any idea how to play on the ball and pass the ball fluently.

Ive said it for a while, he's got the passing game solid in defence and runs the ball hard enough from dummy half. I recon he could do well there ay. Yeh that's it what's the worst that could happen. Gotta be better then seyfarth or having pole there in my opinion

Running down Sloane was good and the step to score, outstanding.

Like him to be more involved from start to finish. Kid has a big future but still room for improvement.

Reckon maybe Benji said to him to play these trials in second gear a bit? Don’t give too much away.

Just another game where we try to put the gameplan into action only to be shown up at how poor our attack is...I know we had some youth in the side but gee its going to be tough throughout the season with no spark in attack or venom in defense..
Hopefully this was just a hitout for match fitness,it showed bugger all otherwise...

Toa just does not have the intensity required to be a first grade centre in the nrl.. he was horrible tonight, and Kepoa should never play first grade ever again.

No ceiling currently.
Our only attacking threat though so shutting our backline down means he will be heavily marked.
