LIVE GAME Trial 2 vs. Dragons

Live Game Discussion
I thought Kepaoa was definitely one of our better players tonight.we have the worlds slowest forward pack, he at least has a bit more speed than the rest of them to offer a little bit of attacking threat.

Defence can be fixed with a better attitude.
Clunky boring predictable attack is a big problem. Unless you have elite halves which we do not have, you need more than just the halves to get their hands on the ball and offer attacking threat, such as the 13 and 1. We currently do not have a 13 or 1 with any idea how to play on the ball and pass the ball fluently.

It’s not just an attitude issue though.

The attitude & energy would be different if we could score points.

We can’t keep expecting our forwards to get us into field position and never score then wonder why we can’t hold on at the other end after multiple dumb errors that most NRL clubs wouldn’t make.

You seem to blame Bula for the attacking failures of the entire team …this is a guy still hasn’t played more than 20 NRL games
He’s the fullback, he plays a big part in our attack.
Watch how influential every other NRL fullback is in their teams attack.
I think he’s better suited as a centre as he’s clearly not confident to get his hands on the ball too often.

Wouldn’t read into a trial game 3 weeks away from the season. Not one set play all game in attack is by design.

Lachlan Galvin looks like the third best player on this team after Bula and Api. He has to start. Throw him in he needs experience will partner Luai next year.

✔️✔️✔️

Salad with antithesis of his last week performance. Early on after a repeat set API turned around and motioned to ask for more chat. Captain seemed frustrated. Seemed pretty rudderless until and eighteen year old was moved into the halves. Team looked a lot like last years squad.
No need for the deadwood to be given time to develop this year. Just get rid of them now and let the little talent we have in the top 29 have time on the field.
If I could I would cut Staines, Toa, Kepaoa, Seyfarth, Twal, Sullivan, Simpkin tomorrow. Ruthless but I want results

He is not even in the top 10 problems this team has

This. Exactly. They're under instructions, by design
as you said. I don't think benji or we showed our hand

At least he admitted then that Seyfarth isn’t an NRL 13.
Seyfarth is not being paid to be a starter or regular in our 17.
He’s being paid to his ability as someone who can do a job in our 14-17 or just outside of that and provide good value when injuries occur.

DONT FORGET people,we can bag the players all we like,we also have a club ledgend in the coaches box that is a ROOKIE NRL coach...
Everybody bagged Flanno for what he did at the Sharks, but he has improved the Drags 200% on last year...
I hope Benji does well, but how many times has it been said that superstar players dont always make good coaches...
Benji needs time,it should have been in Group six for a couple of years, lets hope he can prove to us all he can be a successful coach at this level...

Nailed it.

1 coach was looking for a hit-out, the other came
with a gameplan to win at all costs. Kept most of
his starting side on 4 a lot of the match. Sad 2 see
so many people throwing in the towel already lmao

Edit:

Win at all costs flanno. He was like that @ sharks lol
This is exactly what we needed boys & girls!

You must like the team you follow scoring a maximum of 3 tries per game and have the most boring attack in the games history.
I do like Bula as a player, but he’s not a fullback as he has no idea how play like a halve which the good fullbacks do.

I know what you’re saying but put Teddy at the back and I doubt we see many more points being scored.

Bula does need to get more involved but he also needs attacking structures in place to allow it whilst needs his defensive work rate to reduce as well. He does need to play with depth also. He appears very flat but that seems to be our attacking strategy.

Our attacking formations are robotic, sluggish and it’s like watching kids play pass the parcel. Their is no deception/decoy/block runners/line running options - we also struggle to defend against those formations which says we don’t even practice it.

He is not.
Exactly, he is terrible.. he misses tackles badly, he is always out of position. He refuses to scramble in defence, to the point that he actually just watches the play unfold. His hands are flippers, he is lazy and ineffective with and without the ball.

If you watch the try Ben hunt scores off the grubber he is standing hands on knees in back play. Not even fit enough to play in the forwards.
