OFFICIAL SG Ball Cup

I think you're being a bit harsh. I watched the replay last night and thought they looked quite strong without being flashy. They got the ascendancy early in the middle winning the collision, had plenty of aggression & speed in defence. Was particularly impressed with TDS & Coady leading the line speed early. I liked Luke Laulilii in the centres always hit the ball in attack at speed & on the advantage line and set up a good try to Willett who was quite acrobatic in his finish. I thought Miller was quite strong for where he is at in his return. If he can stay injury-free, I'll be interested to see where he's at by August. Heath Mason has very good as he should be and we could have a good developing backrower in Mitchell Taotua with his size & body shape. We played a pretty simple game plan which is obviously being drilled through the grades so I'll be interested when any of teams start playing a bit more expansive.
Point taken BWG and I hope I am being too harsh as there is a lot of hope for the future within this squad.
Regardless I don’t think tomorrow’s clash with Balmain will be as one sided as many think.

It's a very talented WM side, I'm sure the nucleus are on individual development plans this year, be just great to see them all individually improve.

Big hopes for TDS, Mason, Willett, Luke Laulilii, Jordan Miller, Kit Laulilii & Mitchell Taotua while wouldn't surprise if Craig, Waqa, Pritchard & Coady take the next step. Something about Coady gives me Bryce Gibbs vibes.

Yeah you could be right about tomorrow. This is the match that the Tigers will want to lift for with Benji & co watching ... very important for Kanaan, Lawandos, Haywood & Tannous if they want to stake a claim.

16-10 at HT.
Balmain scored a quick double with a try and assist to Xavier, the centre who came down from Qld. Good play.
But with a minor to go they rush a pass-out wide, hits Xavier in the head Willet picks it up and strolls 50 to score

Overall there were plenty of errors and both sides seemed their worst enemies at times. The heat certainly would have played a decent part in that.

Wests ran away with it towards the end.

TDS classy as always (even with a few errors thrown in).

Luke Laulili'i is sharp when he runs it....only a matter of time before he is up in Flegg.

Really good to see Jordan Miller have a good crack. He looked very hard to handle (particularly in his 2nd stint today).

I like the look of Mitch Taotua. Seems a quality 2nd rower in the making if we can continue his development.

I'd agree with all that.

If they weren't so careless with the ball ,(may have been the heat impact) they would have won by more.

Big Nav did well but would have liked to see more of him, Craig, Luke. But hard for the backs when they're was dropped ball

I reckon Miller will come good. Overweight at the moment is not a great sign, had a few leg injuries last year that led to his weight gain. But I’ve seen him at training in firsts and he looks like he’s improving, being around a lot of fit players in firsts will help his mindset.

I really hope you’re right mate. he is as big of a talent as Galvin and Da Silva, just had some issues with his weight and injuries. if they can fix those he will solve a lot of our problems moving forward.

He went ok last week with some strong charges.
Needs a big focus on his alertness and agility when defending, if that comes up to scratch he will progress nicely.

Most of the points u mentioned are weight related tardiness. Hopefully that will clear up with the weight loss.
Interesting that there has been no negativity by the club on Millers weigh issue. Hopefully that means that Miller is all for it and understands what and where he needs to be.

A very good side this week.
Players selected in their best positions IMO.

I get the overall feeling that Benji's 'n Betsy's player types and style of play is filtering down the lower grades coaches and players and are starting to sing from the same hymn book.
Even Balmain sides are changing players, hopefully on form. Fingers crossed as I hope so.

I imagine Wests would have a nutritionist that he would get advice from re. how much weight he would be required to lose by a certain date.
It's obviously not good for his health to be playing such a high intensity and brutal sport carrying excessive kgs.

The thing is, if he wasn't on a first grade contract no one would be overly worried about his development. It's the desperation of past management that raises expectations. He's a giant kid.

I'm curious how agile NAS was at the same age
