Wests Tigers Home Ground Mega Thread

Never said you did but I think it’s too far away anyway from where we’re based.
I think we all agree Allianz is a no go . I think Gallagher and I are saying that Allianz is actually pretty close to LO . Not because we think the tigers should play there , but in response to @Vicious implying there was no stadia to service in the city community .
As for the the “nrl won’t let us play there “ . The nrl has no say on stadia as they’re all owned by trusts and committees . And compete with each other for content .
The incentives though that the scg trust would offer a club to permanently base themselves there , just wouldn’t be competitive. Which Richo eluded to being the reason Souths play out of Olympic park .

If that’s the case then why don’t Souths move to Allianz then? They train at their COE at Marouba for all grades so why not base themselves there? I get the stadium is still kind of new coming out 2022 to the public but why continue to use Accor?

Bro are you even reading what I’m saying ? Or just spinning your own narrative in your head …
I literally answered that 2 times !!

No offence @Glenji95 , but you can be frustrating to talk to. You seem to zone out of large parts of the conversation.

Never mind just forget it. If Souths want to travel much further to a ground to play at that’s their choice when there’s one so much closer to where they are based.

??? Listen to Richo explain it .. but actually listen and don’t do what your doing here , where your looking for ways to confirm yourself right , but not actually reading what’s being said . He explains the logic , and it’s very sound ..

It's not the 8th wonder. There is an old school atmosphere there in the right conditions, but that atmosphere goes pretty quiet come September. Its reputation as a fortress for our club is also grossly overstated. There have been some really disappointing performances there when we have needed wins at the end of seasons to make the top 8.

I enjoy LO like I enjoy listening to vinyl records or driving an old classic car. Its a fun anachronism, but its not very practical.

Maybe these things are not mutually exclusive, but I would gladly prefer a more competitive and successful club over the nostalgic buzz of a suburban ground. I want a club that is regularly making the finals, and having a single place to call home, new triumphs, more memories. That means more to me than hanging out to our (admittedly at times fantastic) 'bring back the biff' quaisi ironic self tribute show. Ideally I'd like to have both. But I'm almost totally convinced that the situation really is a huge impediment and now its time for a change.

Honestly If sitting on the hill drinking tins and rejecting modernity means more to me than the club itself, I can always turn up at Henson park

Either way, we aren’t going to play there. Accor is the only smart option in this case if we aren’t using LO or CSS anymore.
And as big and ugly and soul less as it is... I remember in 05 when we were there and playing great footy none of that really mattered... Too me anyway... Parking transport facilities all much better.... Yes at the expense of history chsracter and individuality nostalgia fmd great memories.
Is the way with a lot of things now

Richo said they have just as many members out west
They have offices in Liverpool and Campbelltown

I understand the strong feeling fans have with a ground particularly one with the history of LO... but when I read on socials if we don't play there they won't attend anymore ( support the ground more then the team) I find that hard to understand unless they're still driving a 64 Holden with no power steering, windows a/c etc... Still line up in banks... Use kero heaters and land line fones only etc etc

Pretty sure he was at LO last night. Walked past where we were sitting. Looked like he couldn't believe the place was so full before kick off!
Can’t believe the audacity of the slime. Bags us continuously, bags the facilities at the ground to death, then still turns up to our games every time. Him and that other pathetic excuse for a human Hooper who pretends to be a tigers supporter.
Don’t come to our games no body likes u, if your going to bag us as bad as they do, sod off!! Don’t get it…

Brent Read is a journalistic dickhead. Leaving the whole Leichhardt oval thing aside NRL may be big business but the reality is crowds just aren't there for NRL games which they all hope for. Derby games get a decent showing but out of town teams don't fill stadiums. Any move to the bigger stadiums will be risky with our supporter base. Parramatta stadium is not our ground either they need to stop promoting this idea too.
16,000 almost full ground fir the ground, when we have won the last two wooden spoons. Also on how poorly we also played last week. Speaks volumes on what the fans think of the ground!!!

You’re wrong . Melbourne went through what we are going through now with stadia , but instead of fixing up more remote boutique stadiums like Brooks and the riff , the forced all teams into one of those 2 . But realistically though the “westy” team is Footscray . About the same time from Melbourne as Lidcombe is to Sydney . They don’t really have remote teams and when they do like Geelong , it’s far enough away for thier own stadium .
I guess we are saying the same thing re. Accor , I’m fine to share.
The Liverpool stadium isn’t happening IMO , and the only way C town is getting required knock down rebuild is if the bulls can some how drum up some real support to leverage that with us . .
Melbourne teams or most of them are still very close to each other geographically. It’s like it was when the NRL first started when all the teams were within 10-15 kms of each other. Different kettle of fish now. In Melbourne all those old teams survived, do going to common grounds is much easier than Sydney!

Yes but also said that Campbelltown stadium in its current condition isn’t up to standard if they want to continue to use it. If both don’t get upgraded neither won’t be used.

Richo said we won't lose money at home games. That was the message. He will sign a stadium deal no doubt.

He categorically rejected Parra Stadium. Didn't say much about SFS.

Homebush is the only one left.

He has spoken about match day experience, where supporters can get transport, eat, drink and get entertainment before and after the game. Homebush technically fits that bill.

Olympic park is pretty easy to get to mate ! And so is Allianz . My point was around teams sharing home grounds and still maintaining an atmosphere : home ground advantage .
Look in my honest opinion , I think things like we need a ground to service 4 suburbs or , it’s too hard to get to these grounds is a pretty silly argument to make . And doesn’t hold much of any weight .
Nostalgia and tradition are really the only things that keep LO alive : everything else doesn’t real hold up under the smallest microscope.
