OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

He's 32...
Would be more concerning than Injuries I would think.

Been saying it forever,
Keary, Foran, Hunt, DCE, Reynolds are all Top Tier Halves on the wrong side of 30...
With the Likes of Walker, Townsend, Johnson, Sezer not far behind them....

The exodus of Halves from the game in the next 5 years pales the amount of names coming through....
We'll struggle to hold Galvin - For certain.
You make a very good point, there is certainly a changing of the guard in the near future in the halves department. Hard to believe we have three under contract for a few years and Luai joining us next year.

The trick will be retaining them when it’s contract time. I guess our success over the nxt couple of years will determine what happens. Just hope we are not faced with another Tedesco and Moses situation. I would certainly be doing everything to keep Galvin happy, even if it means a contract upgrade. Sadly I think he is managed by the biggest grub in the player agent profession

By 2026 Galvin is either

A) Established at 6 or 7 next to Luai & likely the earn the top dollar in the club

or

B) Shifted to #13 or into the Second Row because Fainu was too good to leave out.

If we lose Galvin under scenario 2, we have Fainu locked in instead, who made his loss in the halves acceptable.

Highly unlikely you lose him to $'s alone in option 1.

If Galvin goes into the forwards & we lose him? Fa'agutu, Lualili'i, Sukkar etc are coming through along with the 2 older Fainu's.

The best clubs in the game lose players. The Tigers WILL lose some players to other clubs. No way they retain all of the young guys coming through.

Just because we lost Woods, Tedesco & Moses under different leadership & circumstances doesn't mean we will ALWAYS lose all our best players.

Signed until 2026, Cap is going up always too. I'm
not worried. Bud will be shopped before Lachlan.
No way you let a local junior go. Luai, Galvin, Fainu,
Large is a great core group to have in a couple years
Gotta start winning more games if we realistically expect him to stay. I read an article saying he is on the radar of Penrith, they view him as a replacement for Luai.

We'll lose Galvin or Fainu...
I'd prefer to keep Galvin at this point, not because he's flavour of the week - But because there's something in him that is missing from most kids (Talent aside) - I don't even know if he'll even be a long term half....
He certainly looks to be special...

Sullivan will be the first to go I'd think, and anyone else who's looking for a better gig - Or is seen as surplus (Fainu) will be like trading Gold....
We certainly won't get stuck with anyone.

The narrative around this club needs to change. Apparently every news article & oracle behind a keyboard would have you believe the Tigers have no ability to sign or retain players in the market.

Luai, Api, Papali'i, Klemmer, Bateman, Olam...they didn't seem to have an issue.

Fainu's- they seemed ok with it.

Bula upped his contract. To'a (ugh). Picked up Fataape under the Broncos noses.

I mean, Tupou has signed for the Dolphins, so we are clearly falling apart. And 76 years ago we lost 3 guys that single handedly destroyed the club all at once too.

So maybe I'm wrong.

True, but Galvin also has the same manager as those players we lost and that has to be taken into account before putting all of our eggs in the Galvin basket.

How many other players at the club are under Moses?

Do we automatically assume all his clients are leaving?

I'm not sure we have any left in the top 30 under Moses. We used to have a lot more.

No, but don't automatically assume Galvin will stay beyond 2026 just because we can match any offer.

??? What are you basing this on ? We have Bula snapped up on 600k for the next 3-4 years . Which is a massive bargain .
Luai on the obligatory 1mil half contract most clubs have . A fair chunk of clubs also have the 800-900k prop forward / lock eg. The panthers / south’s / roosters .
So there’s budget for a Galvin lock move as well .
Did you watch his interview post game ? That struck me as a tigers junior living his dream . It did not strike me as a rent a star kid from another club .
The fainus will be the ones most on the bubble . Especially with thier close ties to Fulton . Not because I think he’s like Williams sisters dad type father figure , but more because he will be thier ear .
But we win footy games , we build a club that fosters trust , loyalty , comraderie and respect , but really leans into the old boys , tigers for life type culture the roosters / storm have , then there’s no reason that these kids won’t stick around .
I think you are blinded by the big 4 and what happened there .
