CEO - Shane Richardson

Surely HBG isn’t that stupid to not continue with the recommended governance changes. I know they have a new Chair in Julie Romero but HBG ‘unanimously’ agreed for the WT review recommendations to be implemented. Just say Romero backlipped, she & HBG would face the wrath of thousands of members & fans and also devastating negative publicity from the media which would significantly affect their brand & her personal profile. They aint that stupid! Just media scratching to get the WT back into the spotlight.
Gary Barnier raised this issue on the Wests Tigers Podcast a couple of weeks ago, it is definitely something to be concerned about.

Im going to write to him tomorrow and put it to him that’s he’s either in or out.

Im going to tell him that it’s hypocritical asking people to be members if he’s whoring himself to South’s.

There’s no way South’s is easy, because the expectations are higher and their roster and coaching staff is a dogs breakfast.

He left over Latrell (amongst other reasons) and the fat tool is still there, suspended as per usual.

Not sure if Wayne wants that gig anyway.

All levels should be branded Wests Tigers. I’ve always followed he Magpies but it’s 25 years now since the merger. Kids that are in pathways and future players never knew the magpies or Balmain tigers.

Hopefully Wests let it all happen Balmain and Magpies is the past the club needs to embrace the south west it’s where the growth and juniors will come from for a long time.
I can probably agree about our NSW Cup team reverting back to Wests Tigers, if would be crazy to merge our Harold Matthews and SG Ball age groups.

Is there any suggestion HB won't do what was promised?
A catch up with former colleagues and a Webster article shouldn't spook fans.
An article by Chammas a week or so ago suggested that since Tony A was ousted as chair that the new board may not fully support the recommendations.

The fact it hasn’t happened yet and Richo used his media network to get this out should make us nervous. I have my doubts. Giving up control is not something that is easy to do.

I wonder how much of this is HBG stuffing it up vs Rusty tugging at Richo’s heartstrings to come back and fix what the others have undone of his prior legacy?

Feels very Ivan to the panthers to me but hopefully as others have said it’s just click bait. Guess we’ll know soon enough

please explain further…
We had Gary Barnier on the pod a couple of weeks ago and he raised concerns that the changes at the HBG has the potential to be an obstacle to the reforms being implemented.

There have been requests for the new chairman to publicly back the recommendations from the review and that has happened yet.

The issue of his extension at the WT seems to have been dragging on for a few weeks…. Originally …the delay was explained by supposedly haggling over his salary … that was a week ago… now we are onto the Souths angle… there might be a little more to the story than “clickbait“ in my mind … Best case scenario is that Richo is using his situation to get HBG to finalise the Independent appointments

“It’s our basket case and we’ll jolly well run it how we like” , if they fu$& this up, send us to Perth.
What would sending us to Perth achieve B05?
Wouldn't we still have the HBG and current directors running the show.
I feel the players probably know what's going on to a certain extent at least  and that could be reflected in their performance tomorrow against St. George, so I'm hoping for the best 🤞🤞🤞

Are you able to advise what are the main recommendations that have not yet been implemented?
I was under the impression getting rid of Hagi and Pascoe were the main recommendations?

She did say this publicly …

There were 5 recommendations, but for example the new board hasn't been appointed yet.
