Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

No they aren’t … they are just as bad

you just haven’t seen Toa for a month and forgot how bad he actually is
To’a was average with his tackling and passing. On the wing he’ll do a lot less of both.

He is quicker than Tupou and decent at catching bombs.

I don’t see a better option on the wing. Lobb is too slow and ineffective for yardage gain.

One or two seconds quicker play the balls over an entire game adds up to losing the ruck, and the ensuing problems that creates

I counted a lot of the PTBs from the time player hit the deck to heeling the ball...penrith consistently beat us for 80 mins

Penrith created a lot of their own problems today they were off
1 or 2 seconds is a bit of stretch - according to NRL stats it was .16 of a second average difference over the game.

Toa has a signicantly better tackle % at centre then either of Olam or Naden. Fully fit Toa is our 2nd best centre

I think we need to buy 3 solid first graders , we’re are not quite there yet to compete each week specially against teams like Panthers , Storm , Broncos , Our reserve grade side got pumped as well , I didn’t see the game but I don’t think we have players ready to step up or oust current first graders .
Wing , Centre , prop / Back rower combo

Toa is not average … he is very below average in fact ..: he has never done anything outside of one game … which is in fact a bigger indictment as it shows he has ability but never uses it …

He is part of the problem and not the solution .. get rid of him

We can play him for 30, then bring him back on around 55 minutes, we just need another option in attack

Wiser option would probably be starting Pole, bring on Latu at 20 mins and then again at 60 mins

Can’t start Latu, he would be the smallest starting lock in the game and at his age could do some real damage

Kit Laulilii played Ron Massey Cup. Can’t really comment on why cause I don’t know. But I’ve never really rated Kit Laulilii much, he is actually deceivingly small, standing a 5”10 or 178cm. He stands at the same height as Soni Luke and Justin Olam just in a larger frame which is hard to see how he could be successful as a lock forward.

I hope he comes good but who knows. Like others I’m really worried about our backs, Lobb doesn’t fill me with too much confidence nor does Declan Casey, though I do see some potential in both, but we both now how “potential” at the Tigers usually goes.

I’ve seen a few comments questioning why we haven’t been seen trying to lure backs but isn’t that a good thing? We aren’t leaking anything to the media and I highly doubt we are just twiddling our thumbs doing nothing. But again I say who really knows cause 99% of stuff on this forum is rightly so, just speculation, just as my comments are.

The cupboard is bare.

We need some big needle mover recruits in the backs but there's very limited options available.
That’s what Luai is supposed to be. As for the outside backs, whoever we let go, I can’t see us replacing them with anyone better. Players like Cotric aren’t going to be any better than anyone we already have. Shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic those kinds of roster changes.

His body shape is not an issue if you demonstrate fast leg speed, high energy and a high work rate, however I have not seen these traits demonstrated by him in the small snippets of game time where I’ve watched him play this season.
He’s still very young for a middle forward and like many he may need more time, but the lack of high energy and high work rate is an area of concern.

I get what you are saying .. but they need a few established first graders to move the needle… they are just spinning their wheels wasting their limited Top 30 spots on the likes of Lobb and the Rugby Union guys in the “hope“ they come good .,,

they got one spot left on their Top 30.. and you want to spend it on this guy playing for the Bears,in the hope they find a diamond in the rough? And thats it then …if another established guy shakes out from somewhere next month,,, we got no room for him in our Top 30..

Ideally I'd love for em to release a bunch early and overhaul the entire backline

AD is walking back into that centre spot.

Leaks about players don’t always come from the Clubs … the players agent can leak it too.. are the Wests Tigers in on anyone at the moment ? We don’t really know do we ..?
