Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Rusted on Wests Tigers fans that have been keeping a close eye on the junior reps would’ve been excited to see Jordan Miller get his first start in NSW Cup on the weekend. The 19-year-old prop, who stands at 192cm tall and weighs 130kg, was a part of the Magpies’ Harold Matthews premiership-winning team in 2022 — and was the club’s Player of the Year that season.

He moved into the Top 30 this season and has been eased into NSW Cup after starting the year in SG Ball.

Miller had easily his best performance to date which included a try, a linebreak, three tackle busts and 124 running metres, as well as 24 tackles — no misses. He also punched out his highest minutes of the season (35), which is the key area he’s been working on.
it's been a bleak season, but Miller's rise thru the grades has been so much fun to watch, given he was virtually down and out at the beginning of November.

if he keeps this up he'll have a bench spot in first grade for R1 2025.

I think our squad is really bad. I don't see a squad in worse shape than us.

With the emergence of Galvin and the arrival of Luai and Taruva next year (with hopefully a few more) we may move near that range, but right now we have the worst squad in the league.

Even our talented players like Bula, Galvin, Stef and Papalii wouldn't be in the top 10 in their position. Our only real standout talent is Api. Our top 17 is full of cast offs from other teams and the squad is just nowhere near good enough, with almost no depth (hence Twal and Seyfarth seem automatic selections despite indifferent form).

I don't see which squad is weaker than ours.
I don't agree, I think they're not playing to their potential and our squad is inexperienced - we're the youngest team in the NRL.

We've been in every game apart from the Broncos and Panthers, who are the two best teams in the comp.

Our problem is that we're not converting opportunities into points when we're in the red zone.

And that comes down to creative, well structured set plays.

Nofa continuing to prove his worth, apparently about to be released by Salford.
I think he played 2 games, one of which was so diabolically bad that he would've been placed on the never to be selected ever again list.
It's surprising as I read on here that he would "kill" it over there and score loads of tries .

That would be a massive insult to the members and other players on the roster.
He has to earn an extension and prove his body is strong enough not to fall to pieces the second he gets on field. We simply cannot continue to hand out contracts to players that haven't earned it.
That's how we filled our squad with bludgers like Toa, Naden etc.
If someone plays consistently well then that's one thing. Douieihi could miss 10 tackles in his first game back and look miles off the pace, we'd look pretty solid offering him a contract then. With only 2 spots left We simply don't have the space to accommodate him currently. If we offloaded 4-5 players then there might be room for him, if he earns a minimum wage deal

Talk about an over exaggerated response. As if it would be considering an insult we give players who haven’t even played nsw cup or nrl a minimum contract.

Rumours going around that Sitili Tupouniua is on the outer at the Roosters and Tigers are one of the clubs interested in him for next season. With Siua Wong, Crichton, Butcher bros, Connor Watson who can fill in at 2nd row it kind of makes sense. Personally not a fan of the signing given his injury troubles but he has good potential a bit like Luciano Leilua

Sitili Tupouniua now given permission to talk to other clubs as he is not valued there with Butcher bros, Siua Wong, David Fifita, and possibly Crichton there next year. Don't be shocked if we make an offer for him

Coaches watch game tape. We pass a lot and with depth. Benji clearly has got a plan which the players have to adapt or be replaced. It’s going to be a long season it’s what Ciraldo did with the dogs defence last year. I believe he’s in the right track with Luai coming.

Hate the new forum. REsponding to TYGA "

I believe Benji has a plan with attack, but I just don't see it with Defense.
Look defense takes work and it won't be an overnight change.
Particulalry as I see our backline changing a lot, players won't be able to practise knowing the people besides them.

That is the big issue with him. It's affected his games with more errors, less confidence, etc. He was a great player before his ACL. I think he would be a good buy at the right price
And Adam Doueihi isnt .. ?? I dont believe we can afford to keep AD on our books .. too much of an injury risk .. what we desperately need is a big hard running forward .. someone who make something out of nothing .. we have Stefano who sometimes runs hard does and bends the defense line .. Sam Fainu is showing great signs of being our best forward .. not sure if Creichton is that payer .. could Jordan Millar be this player in the next few seasons .. ?? but we need a good forward .. !!

How much is the right price ? he is under contract until the end of 2027.. so I would be very wary of any commitment of that length regardless of how little he might cost
