Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It seems I am in the minority when it comes to Benji’s trip. Personally I think it’s a smart idea for everyone involved with the team to get away from football and freshen up and have some fun.

I think Benji could spend 24 hours a day and nothing much will change till our roster is overhaulEd both in quality and depth. I also think all the media criticism is all about creating drama to get ratings.

Benji will do things his way. Like it or lump it. Whether he ends up being a good coach or not only time will tell. But we have set a course and need to see it out - "make a plan and stick to it". Tweedledum and Tweedledumber kept changing direction every 5 minutes and that didn't work out too well. So, let Benji be Benji and see what happens. Haven't got much to lose.

It'd never happen, but if we jagged crichton we could go top 8 easy with the cattle coming on board next year. Dare to dream!

This is what we are reduced to now … dreaming about players who are never coming here … it’s a bit like dreaming of winning Lotto and how we are going to spend those millions ..

Jason Taumalolo not selected for Cowboys this week. Looks like they may be trying to push him out. I'd pay $600k (with Cowboys chipping in the other $400k) to have him at Tigers. A new environment could do him wonders. Plus we need a lock...

JT plays like 35 minutes a game now … Cowboys would be giggling if we took him off their hands … he is well and truly washed

Penrith were willing to let those guys go. And they aren’t the Roosters.
Penrith are the 3 time Premiers and you're saying that they're inferior to or not as savvy as the Roosters?
Any player will leave any club for the right money.
Last I read Crichton was willing to leave for the right money and the Roosters were trying to replace him with Fifita, so I guess maybe he's not that important to them.
Are you a Roosters insider or just an avid fan of theirs?

And he’s come out in the last day or two and said he and the club are moving on from that situation. He’s not leaving.

Nope, more to it than that. When you think of all the poms who've come out in the last decade, and then think that the Raiders signed Bateman, Hodgson, Whitehead, Sutton, Smithies, Williams and possibly the next back rower...

Sure Souths got the Burgess boys and there's Dom young and Herbie. But the majority have all gone for the boring, cold, wet, grey city..
Or maybe that was the only club that showed interest in them , but we will never know

My concern with both Faagatu and Kit is they both look slightly small and not intimidating enough to be top quality props and seem th lack a bit of speed and stamina required to be a top quality 13.
They are both still very young and appear to be improving as good young players should, but if we want to discuss them as the type of players who can potentially strengthen our NRL team anytime soon, we surely need to start seeing them dominate when playing NSW Cup.
Faagatu although a bit smaller than Kit, appears to be a bit faster and has a bit more high energy and aggression in his ball carries.
Definitely not writing them off, but it’s come to the stage where we really need to see a strong back half of the season from them if they are any chance of playing NRL and helping us become a better team sometime soon.
I personally can't see either of them strengthening our NRL side, as you rightly eluded to. We need bigger and stronger players if we expect to advance up the ladder.
The Wahs had a mostly reserve grade pack the other day fill in with their NRL side and they all played really well. All big, fast and strong. I was impressed with them, just what we need. Our talent scouts should have a look at that game and see what's required to come of the bench.
