We wouldn’t be topping up any player going to the UK.Watching a super league replay (catalans v st Helen’s) a commentator talked about the tigers clean out
Bateman - but not interested in coming home currently
Naden - some interest by clubs
Sullivan - would come at 180,000 pound (say 360,000-400,000), not sure if that takes into consideration of any tigers top up- but some interest by clubs
Simonsson is a beast winger but Naden out performs him at centre. That's not to say Naden is good, just that Simonsson should never ever be near a centre slot. When you're 3/4 line reads:
Staines
Naden
Olam
Alaimalo
I know I'd feel much better with:
Cotric
Simonssen
Olam
Turuva
And I don't think it would be impossible to put together either..
Sounds like maybe he is in the start of his 10 day cooling off period. Wonder who he is signed with.Reedy just mentioned on MMM that Simpkin will be announced to leave within a week or 2.
Or they’re just waiting for Benji and Richo to come back to make it official.Sounds like maybe he is in the start of his 10 day cooling off period. Wonder who he is signed with.
I doubt it has anything to do with them. It's not like we would be releasing him, he is off contract.Or they’re just waiting for Benji and Richo to come back to make it official.
He’s a tough little bugger and I think he will play more NRL somewhere, but he doesn’t have much creativity, no explosive speed off the mark and not much of a kicking game.Reedy just mentioned on MMM that Simpkin will be announced to leave within a week or 2.

Edit: This should be our 3/4 line next season. It also gives a Makasini or a Large a chance to start in 26. Either as a straight swap in for Olam, or if Staines is still struggling in 25 they can get a start on his wing.
2. Simonsson
3. Olam
4. Turuva
5. Staines
You're right, Lobb is another to compete for that right wing spot with Staines. Hopefully we can get the best out of one of them.I'm interested to see what Lobb does next week. Sounds like Benji will play him and in reality the opportunity is there for him to take. Wasn't it reported he was in the top 3 fittest in the club with Galvin and Bula? So with his size there is no reason at all he can't work his butt off and run for 150-200 metres every game. If he can do that, he just needs to make his tackles and finish well when the opportunity comes. People say he is slow but he is actually fast. His unusual crouching running style for a tall man with long strides makes him look slower the he is. He may surprise a few. I hope so because a winger his size is very valuable. He is as good as Lomax under the high ball.
Ok. What did I miss?Just going to make it even more of a surprise when it happens.
Watching Lobb this year in Cup, he's very, very average.
As in, we'll below Staines' and Alaimalo's current form average.
He’s terrible for yardage. And yes he’s a good finisher when he’s within 10 metre of the line. How often do we put our wingers in that position though. What do we see in Cotric?...he's kak
Big Sivo seems to be injury free again. I'd prefer him simply for yardage and finishing. Just for 2 years.
We have good stats for tackled inside other teams 20. Just can't get over the line. He’s terrible for yardage. And yes he’s a good finisher when he’s within 10 metre of the line. How often do we put our wingers in that position though.
He's very slow on the turn for starters. Weak(ish) into contact. Haven't seen any evidence of finishing ability being anything special. Isn't especially strong, evasive or a natural tackle-breaker from what I've seen.I'm sceptical when looking into our outside backs form in Cup this year, the side is terrible. Out of curiosity what is he doing that's average? I've seen a few games and while he isn't standing out, I haven't seen anything that makes me right him off as potential NRL player.
He has the physical attributes, it really is just a matter of how much of a go he wants to have if Benji names him next week.
Ask Staines that question. He’s terrible for yardage. And yes he’s a good finisher when he’s within 10 metre of the line. How often do we put our wingers in that position though.

That being said, he's safe(ish), understands wing positioning to an adequate level, has an OK straight line top speed, can leap and can goalkick.
I'd say at best, he's a sideways move from Solomon and Charlie and at worst, he's a less impactful version of Corey Oats (albeit a bit quicker).
