Just wondering what sort of team would you make out of our offloads/rejects in last couple of years

Luciano Leulua ,Mikhalae , Garner , Liddle ,Madden ,Brooks ,Talau , Laurie, Eisenheuth
Blore , junior Puaga , Hastings , Peachy, Nu Brown , Ofengauhe , Kelma Tuilagi
That's 16 ! 13 of which are doing well in 1st grade at their new home .
Only Peachy and Laurie and Nu Brown don't get much of a run ..
Throw in Douehi virtually gone , Papalii probably played his last game and both wingers a couple of years ago Nofoaloma and Maumalo gone for good
The topic Recruitment should also include Retention and on paper our losses outweigh our gains .
Now with 8 unavailable and a very weak cup side we are struggling to put 17 genuine NRL level quality footballers on the paddock
Conclusion : We are going backwards !

The only one playing well is Blore. Liddle is pretty decent. The others are poor to average and the beneficiaries of being around good coaching and superstars.

Tommy Talau isn’t playing good? Gee harsh critic… & if the others are all only benefiting from being around stars what’s the difference for Blore being fed by Munster, Grant, Hughes & Pap?

Bateman - but not interested in coming home currently
Naden - some interest by clubs
Sullivan - would come at 180,000 pound (say 360,000-400,000), not sure if that takes into consideration of any tigers top up- but some interest by clubs

You can have all the interest from the clubs you like but if the player doesn't want to go to England he sits here picking up $400K + for playing KOE Cup.

I’ve lived in England. It is a miserable shithole.

It might not be to bad for culture, just sending the players in a club a message. Either you play well enough to stay or at least put in a real continuous effort (Seyfarth) otherwise your out. Maybe makes the players feel they have to earn their keep now.

I would be selling him the idea of go for a couple of years and come back a better half. Like Fulton (I know not a half), and come back to the Tigers for the last year of his contract. Something’s gotta change bcoz his contract terms, current ability and value to the team are out of whack. It’s not beneficial to either party in the long run and especially not for us in the short term.
Although, if I were him I would be staying on good coin and working at being what ever Luai needs in a halves partner. Gal could end up being a centre, lock, 2rf or half, and Latu has a hamstring probs already.
Yeah I’m interested to see which way we/he goes from here.
One thing I am disappointed in is that this is all over the media? Can’t be good for the young blokes confidence and I thought Richo had stopped the leaks. He must have run out of silo.

But still earns lots of money whilst living in Australia and exits his contract at the Tigers still young with assets behind him . A long NRL careers isn't everything and for some it's proved very life shortening.

He has three more years guaranteed at the Tigers on $500-$600k … Everyone is different but I would play that out here and then go over there at age 26 … I doubt playing NSW Cup would ”kill” his career over there …they sign reserve graders from here all the time …

Of course he will also be able to work on his game here in the meantime and will no doubt get the odd first grade opportunity here given injuries and suspensions…

This year Tommy Talau is the Wests Tigers in a nutshell…. Didnt look like a first grader when he was here ( like Toa, Naden, Staines )…. He has moved to Manly and is now playing well… it must be more than playing with good players …he has a better attitude and has no doubt benefited from superior coaching .,

100%. There has not been one quote regarding this from Richo or anyone associated with the Tigers . All speculation from journos.

If a straight release won't work, I wonder whether we could loan him to a SL club for 2 years. We'd have to subsidise some of his contract (maybe $200k per year) and then guarantee him a spot back with us for his 4th year.

Frees up a roster spot for 2 years, hopefully he returns a more furnished player, gives us time to see how Gavin & Fainu go. Just spitballing.
