Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Are you saying if he played for us and he was charged and convicted, you would still want him at the club?
would he be sacked by his employer in any other day job for what he’s done?
I get the impression you’d sack him if he was your employee?

I’m not saying he should be crucified for that alone, but it just adds to the list of things that he does that proves you don’t need a long neck to be a goose.
The way I look at it, if we had plenty of quality players ti choose from I wouldn’t even consider someone with numerous off field indiscretions, but we don’t have that luxury we are in desperate need of quality players to help improve the on field results.

It’s a moot issue. Penrith will only sack him if he’s found guilty, and if he is found guilty, there is no way the NRL won’t ban him for a certain period of time. Which might not even matter if he faces jail time.

Rumour is he’s gone and they’ll nab Lomax immediately. Winners are grinners.

Incorrect.
They want to sack him for his numerous other breaches they've been covering up. This last one is just the final straw. Seems a bit like Nof, but only more stupid and crazy.
Late to training, rude to staff, numerous allegation of assault,. speeding tickets. He's been given warnings but keeps screwing up worse and worse.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's involved in drugs or gang attacks soon. He's an absolute dropkick of a person, and ultimately won't be playing NRL ever again in my view. At least not for 6-7 years for his probable jail time and then his subsequent road to redemption

Back on the track of signing suggestions..

With Richo looking at players in the UK, and with the 'player type' option of Garner now off the books..

Sione Mata'utia wouldn't be the worst wide forward option we could bring in to the side.

Who can also handle playing centre.

If Utoikamanu leaves the club- how do we replace him?

Internally with Sione Fainu/Pole/Miller?

Or externally? Who Willison? Pretty sure he is under contract & seems to be getting increased playing time- unlikely, I'd imagine, that the Broncos would want to part with a player on that progression.

I like Peter Hola from the Raiders as a 'body type' style signing to replace Utoikamanu- very similar build, but obviously not the reputation etc.

I would say the back-end of the season is very important for the development/future of Sione Fainu & Adam Doueihi. If both can make a serious go of whatever opportunities they get- they have a strong case to be a part of next seasons playing squad.

Didn’t he also king hit some random in a bar a couple of years back?

We are so sh!t

Idk how we get out of this

We’re more likely than not, to win another spoon, lose Steff, lose lots more games the second half of the year, have heaps more articles written about Benji, have pressure put on other players to leave, galvin probably wanting out early, players being angry they’re being shopped around and staying like bud, the club being called a disgrace as the losses mount … and richo can’t sack Benji bc luai coming next year…. It’s gonna be awful.

I just can’t see another path. Maybe they sack Farrah and get a quality assistant like Brad Arthur to keep some stability…

It’s 3:30am and I’m depressed about it

Sounds like a nightmare.
I think Benji has a 5 year contract, yeh I know it doesn’t mean he’s in that job for another 3 years. Regardless, I think the club will be watching him closely. He has said the “players aren’t learning” which when translated means ‘ he and his coaching team haven’t been successful.’
For now I guess it’s a case of..the sackings will continue until morale improves? Or Richo getting Benji the players he can coach? Anyway, we know our coaching team are refreshed and ready for another 8 losses.
Benji really needs some green shoots over the next 20 games, because we haven’t improved since sacking Sheensy.
Richo has a job on his hands to change the club from being a graveyard for players and coaches. If anyone can do it it is Richo.

Well they are saying he needs to front the Panthers board, I’m assuming they are going to terminate his contract.
Maybe they believe he’s guilty, who knows, but maybe it’s pressure from their sponsors ?
A lot of if’s to answered, but if he is a feee agent and gets found not guilty, surely Wests Tigers would not be in a position to be picky about not having any players who have been in off field trouble.
Yeah right - NOT doing approrpriate due diligence and just recruiting scumbags is the way to turn the club around... what a load of desparate ill-considered bullshit!!

Scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel is NOT a viable solution!!
