I'd pay overs (not too much) for Royce Hunt. For me he's proven even in beaten sides for sharks and samoa to be a really good player. He's 28, but I can see him getting better and better, and he seems to be a good squad guy

I think we need to bite the bullet and wrap him up long term. He is one of those players that is going to be solid for a long time. It would be superb to have him settled in for the duration.

If we wait too long, we won’t keep him or he will cost too much.

Pole is my favourite forward. Love his intent to go forward.
 
What a disgraceful effort from some of the worst NRL players of all time. As is plainly obvious this year is a right off and I won't be watching them now until 2025. But here are my suggestions for the remainder of 2024.
1 Ship Stefano off, he is a softcock who is so overrated it is hilarious.
2 The former union player on the wing needs to be put out of his misery and spare further humiliation.
3 Sullivan, Staines, to KOE asap.
4 Galvin to spend the rest of the year in KOE to build confidence and basic halves direction.
5 Throw the bus at Royce Hunt, offer Stefano in swap.
6 Throw Doehui and Sezer in the halves for the remainder of the season to if either are worth persisting with in 2025.

I still believe 2025 will be huge improvement on this year but screw watching these losers for the rest of the year.

I would go after both Hunt and Willison from broncos
we lack big bodies and last night showed this , the dragons were all big bodies even lomax is big .
 
I was never for hiring Marshall. I wasn't a big fan of Madge either, but the way it turned out we would have been much better off giving him last year finally with some players he recruited in papalii and Api. He had the burden of mbye, Packer and Reynolds contracts up until that. Not saying he would have succeeded but it gives him the opportunity to go through with a plan.

I say that because the calls are now being made to sack Benji. This is just the same pattern we've been in since we first sacked sheens, always cutting coaches down as soon as things become difficult and everyone gets to hide behind the change and no one is held accountable. Benji needs to be given next year without question. I don't agree with his approach, and I didn't want him here but chopping him down is not progress. Build support around him and try to make it work. Api, Luai, Olam and turuva are all coming or re-signed due to Benji, you sack him now and you completely undermine their trust in the club. Calls to sack him are totally misguided. Support him better, make it work, hold people accountable.

My issue with Benji is he's a hiring from an incompetent board and ceo who absolutely destroyed our club. He gave the guys the bye off for mental health and their physical niggles then we get beat by nearly 50. He's in over his head. Maybe after 5 years in lower grades he could have another crack. But for now we need more than just a coach, we need a father figure, tactician, coach and psychologist all rolled into one.
 
Every year it’s the same noise we hear….sack the coach. Nothing changes when we sack the coach. Looking at the 17 we ran out with last night, I would not hesitate labeling them as probably the worst side we have picked in the last ten years. I don’t blame the coach, we have a very poor roster and on top of that we have injuries and suspensions to factor in.

Okay they should have had a dig and not just meekly surrendered in the second half, but they are a very very average side

The new regime has backed and supported him even though he was a horrible appointment by a previous regime:just because of who he is. They backed his judgement about having a holiday in Fiji.

However, new players want to play for a winning culture don’t they? They’ve seen the outcome of the current coach. This is where communication about direction is important. It doesn’t matter who the coach is. Its about reaching achievable goals. Benji isn’t doing this.
