Sack Marshall

We been the clowns of the NRL for this exact reason.

Squad needs fixing asap

so what is anyone doing about it ( the squad)?

Luia and Turuva will mean SFA if you just trade them for Ice and Stef … it’s wheel spinning ..

I waited all last off-season for them to sign some outside backs … never happened… too much faith in the local juniors

I love Benji...I really do....but he needs to spend some time as an assistant coach, hopefully under Bennett, before any players would take him seriously. Players are NOT "on his bus" and it clearly shows on the field.

He kept saying he emphasized discipline for 9 freakin games. But players don't seem to care nor take his words seriously. Ice wants out, Stefano clearly doesn't want to play for him, Simpkins another, Naden couldn't care less, Kepaoa same, Dud just wants to showcase his talent for a new contract and doesn't care about Benji's discipline talk.

All our youngsters who might have looked up to Benji as a hero growing up are starting to lose faith too. Bula is not the same player compared to last year. Gavin is heading down that track. Even Olam has gone down a gear.

Of course, when things go well, everyone wants to look like superstars but it's only when things get rough that truly shows where players' hearts are at.

I don't know if I can blame the players for last nights game. Honestly, if things are going this bad and my coach rather goes to Fiji than stay with our team to fix things, I don't think my heart will be in it either. Why should I fight for this club when my coach's personal pleasure is more important?

And don't give me that BS about family comes first. Yes, sure, I agree, but we are talking about a freakin holiday here over a man "supposedly" fighting for his career and his beloved club's dignity. If Benji's wife truly loves him, I'm sure she would understand and will support him too.

Sorry, that just the way I see it.

I don't think we can sack him. It has to come from Benji himself. If he did initiate it, it would be very admirable. However I don't think he will give up.

I believe he has the right philosophy's, but throwing an Air Hostess into the cockpit to fly the plane is a big ask.

don’t recall to many instances of a coach resigning due to poor performance of the team … in any sport …

He won’t survive too many more efforts from the players like last night … let’s see if they want to play better so he can keep his job

He’s inherited a crap team. In that time, he has promoted and given experience to a number of juniors. He has signed the NSW 5/8 and the form winger in the comp. We’re still on the market for next year.

I’m not saying he’s a good coach, I’m saying give him time.

Our halves and fullback need someone experienced at teaching them how to play these positions. Moses credits Arthur with really helping him develop an all round game.

Luia moving to half back, Galvin at 6 and Bula at 1 would all benefit from Arthur being coach.

Benji should never have been appointed coach in the first place.
It was the most misguided boys job recruitment I’ve ever seen in professional sport. It’s was a joke. It was embarrassing.
Even worse was that the majority of fans approved of the appointment.
I was gobsmacked at the delusion and got into many arguments on here. We then watched him begin his apprenticeship last year and earn his first spoon. People blamed Sheens. BS. It was Marshall’s spoon. This year he is earning his second one.

Now many of these same people are calling for his head…and I don’t fully agree. I think sacking another coach will be a terrible look and only encourage the media to savage us relentlessly. It will also place incredible pressure on the new guy. Who would really want it? For better or worse, we have to tough this out. We have to stay the course and see what happens next year. We have to commit and be dogmatic to how he see’s things.
Come the end of 25, we can accurately dissect whether he is working. It’s a very poor start, maybe it can work with some tweaking? We will gain more respect if we refuse to give in and sack another coach.

Arthur may not be coming like I said earlier..

Luia is an unknown at 7 .. we have no idea if it will work … and he can’t turn this team around on his own regardless of the coach …

Richo needs to find another 4 experienced NRL level players … a winger, centre, back row and prop … good luck …

Brad Arthur will help our attack and Benji , time to support the coach and give him the tools he needs , Morris has made some difference in defence but we are still under where we need to be .
Farah , just make way and head to the front office specially if this is what you are looking to do in the future. Get it done now while we have 1/2 a season to sort this team out .
we have to many players who are poor quality reserve graders . Richo and Benji should already have a big list of potential buys plus a huge list of thanks see ya , the see ya guys should all be bought in on Monday together and told you got 6 weeks to get off this list , start playing for your tigers future or move on now ,

It seems to me that we acquire "good" players but they don't perform once they get here...all the ex WT's players that were in St George team last night played out of their skins, why couldn't they do that when they were with us.

No one would raise this thread at half time last night.

There's a ton of reasons why it's looking like things are pear shaped today but the squad is being culled, the swamp of our lousy Top 30 is being drained, and no amount of wishing otherwise can change anything.

This is the real change we all wanted out of the review.

Better management.
Consistency.
A team to compete and get back into finals.

But again, no one expected that in 2024.
As Richo has said: patience.

It is so hard to have to deal with the now but it's all about the tomorrows to come.

The age old question...
Much like, what came first? The chicken or the egg.

Is it the coach? Or... is it the players.
