It's about money - currently he is signed for 3 years on a good deal financially for us, he wants a release to sign a new deal reflecting his nrl future star status. We hold the cards because we can pay him more for the next 2.5 yrs or not but no one else can - for that we meet part way and pay him more but in return we get to extend out another year or 2 at the new rate.“The Wests Tigers have promised to extend the contract of boom teenager Lachlan Galvin beyond 2026 if he decides to drop a request for an immediate release from the NRL strugglers.“
That has to be the most bizarre sentence I have ever read. He doesn’t wanna be here, he wants a release, so the club‘s response is “if you promise to stop asking for a release, we will sign you for longer”.
Lol what?
I look forward to how it’s spun if we upgrade and extend him. It's about money - currently he is signed for 3 years on a good deal financially for us, he wants a release to sign a new deal reflecting his nrl future star status. Your probably right but prove he isn’t , easy mate he meets clubs at restaurants chats and moves on , no phone callsBut he's "not allowed to talk to other clubs"
It's still pretty bizarre. It's about money - currently he is signed for 3 years on a good deal financially for us, he wants a release to sign a new deal reflecting his nrl future star status. Our offer of an extended contract and future partner to Luai imo may be strategic.Your probably right but prove he isn’t , easy mate he meets clubs at restaurants chats and moves on , no phone calls
Dude just noIt's still pretty bizarre.
"I want out"
"ok we will lock you down for another year or two, sign here".
But seeing through this. Issac Moses I reckon doesn't rate Galvin. Seriously if Moses thought Galvin was the next Nathan Cleary or something he would never let his player get locked down.
He would keep him open to accept the crazy 1.2 or 1.5m deal the NRL would have to offer. Instead we see Moses wanting to lock up Galvin and pushing Galvin to do a long term commitment deal here.
Not saying Galvin is or isn't a good player. I am saying Moses is getting is player trapped here so he can make the most money out of him.

How so?Our offer of an extended contract and future partner to Luai imo may be strategic.
If it said they were going to extend him with a hefty upgrade I’d understand it, which is what I’m sure the club means. But it’s worded so stupidly. It's still pretty bizarre.

Even if that’s the case, it doesn’t mean his mind can’t be changed down the line. The club still has time.We should’ve extended him after his first game
He was always going to be upset that Latu and sullivan were on higher deals
If this is true and we just made an offer now we’re idiots.
Now we’re gonna have to pay overs to
Extend bc he’s not happy
Here anymore
Would’ve extended him when he was in love with Benji
I reckon there’s a 50% chance he won’t extend even if money is great now
To confirm a player we have identified as one we could build a team around long term, is committed to the club. How so?
Actually, that makes a lot of senseIsaac Moses 101.
a player (Simpkin) on his roster is released to another club, which frees up cap space at the original club. to ensure that cap space isn’t going anywhere else but straight back into his and his client’s pocket, he does the most extreme thing possible: A release request and tells his mates in the media to blow it out of proportion to ensure the upgrade and extension (which Richardson was planning to do anyway) is tied up quickly.
the result? an upgrade and extension for manager and client. a parasite of the highest order, but a smart one to boot.
