OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

How implausible is Galvin telling multiple people he can't wait to get out in the dressing room after a game?
Agree , when I played if a team mate did that , walked around saying he can’t wait to leave , 100% one of my team mates would have either abused him or belted him , maybe he did say it to one players on the side and that player leaked it or his manager is blowing it up , either way Benji and Richo would know exactly what went down and need to come out if untrue and take a huge swipe at Buzz and co , this is starting to become childish from media and the club , get it sorted , if true he needs to be dumped into reserve grade for 2 years , disrespect our club pay the price , he’s cheap so stuff him.

Would be interesting to know what triggered Hunts change of mind.
Galvin is a different proposition though, isn’t he, because of his age and low contract.
Richo‘s carrot of increase in term and amount on the contract is the only way we can go then hope for Stockholm syndrome to kick in? 😜

It was simple, Flanno said he wasn’t going to release him.

Previously players and agents knew if they sooked we would let them go, I will be surprised if Richo or Benji are a walkover. This is their 1st significant player management test.

If Galvin rejects the clubs extension and pushes hard enough he will get his release. They always do, bar Ben Hunt most players if they agitate hard enough they get what they want.

We have to be smart about it if a release is granted and get a deal done and get a young quality player who wants to play NRL and not do a dummy spit the first time things go wrong
100% we need a replacement or 2 in positions we need filled
lock , back rower , Prop , Wing , Centre , Should be easy there is 5 options , if it’s roosters or Penrith it’s 2 players and 2 of the very best reserve graders , not young kids we already got to many , need to build with previous experience not kids , it ain’t working

Flano said no to the release, so he signed on for another year?
You don’t suppose his contract was upgraded or some other carrot introduced?
I think some players ask for a contract upgrade and perhaps are not taken seriously or clubs are slow to react, hence the threats to leave as a motivator?
Both Galvin and Hunt are similar in that they both are crucial to their teams success, so it’s understandable

My view is we must stand our ground on this and it’s bigger than Galvin. He needs to stay the 2yrs.

We have a heap of kids coming through & signed it’s important the kids know if they sign we will stand our ground if they become superstars.

Hynes at the Storm was on minimum payments before shifting to the Sharks, they stood firm despite a heap of requests. Grant also with us they stood firm. Pezet and few others are same bucket. Other clubs do it - we must as well.

The thing with this is we have delivered on each of our promises to the kid & it still hasn’t been enough. He needs to deliver on his promise.

If he stays the two years … he has gotta be playing first grade to want to keep him ..

If his attitude doesn’t change and he prefers to play NSW Cup .. you may as well trade him at least 1 year early and try to get something for him …

I’m hoping that he might change his attitude when JL arrives … they still have to start winning though

Sure to be a smash hit... Don't have to attend any mind numbingly bad WTs games

I doubt Galvin will be there at the members day ... Imo half of this"he's having a rest" crap is to have a decent reason to protect him from this... It was either this or one of those perspex cage /barrier things taxi drivers have for protection
Ink, that is pure genius, if the kid wants out or needs to have a rest he can sit out the rest of his contract here driving taxis all wrapped up safe in his perspex cocoon, no need to play footy and risk getting injured or worse still, lose games that may mentally affect him.

In the meantime his Financial Manager/Minder Moses can also reap the benefit of getting 10-15% right off the top of taxi fares and tips that the young bloke makes in addition to his Wests Tigers contract money.

He will be in tip top physical and mental condition by the time that his Wests Tigers contract has expired and he will be ready to accept new contract offers.

Personally, I just can't imagine the kid screaming and whining about wanting out of a contract after a game for the world to hear, maybe we should have presented him with a participation award or needled him up with a sedative to calm him down

Have to admit I thought he looked like a good kid, but then as they say, looks can be deceiving.

And this is the issue. Broncos secured a $500k transfer fee from the Bulldogs for Karl Oloapu. If he leaves early, WT needs to be compensated.

Just need to hold him through this period. Next year he'll have Jerome next to him.

But if he continues with that BS saying he wants out. Make him ride the pine, let him know there are consequences. But seeing the interview with the kid, I can't understand that.

I just can’t see having Jerome will improve this team , unless we get at leased 4 hard nosed forwards , if we get that we can get by with the backs we have , but we need grunt up front for the half’s to do there thing

Definitely more than a one man fix but he is a good inclusion and will take some pressure of Api.

Even Wally Lewis could not get the Gold Coast Seagulls off the bottom of the ladder by himself ..

Jerome needs some help … NRL ready immeadiately winger ( another one), centre, back row and prop ..at a minimum …maybe another prop to replace Stef

Now does that constitute tampering ??
Over to you Richo !
Nothing anyone can do really. If it's true it's a real scummy move but his parents can meet with anyone they want. The Roosters will just say they're family friends having a catch up over lunch. Meanwhile the whole meeting was prob orchestrated by Isaac Moses as a way to negotiate for Galvin keeping him at arms length from doing anything wrong by getting the parents to tell their son whatever the Roosters want to know. After setting the whole meeting up. How can we prove any wrong doing. I wonder if another club has agreed to terms with him behind the Tigers back if they could offer him a contract now from 2027 onwards. Like Penrith did with Cleary. Or is that not allowed as part of the anti tampering rules.

As long as no one finds out, you’re sweet.
Our club needs to stop telling the world how good our juniors are.
You don’t hear Bellamy or a Bennett talk up their young blokes like we do.
One of their young guns has a cracking good game and they’ll say “yeah, he’s coming along slowly, still lots to work on, but it’s encouraging”.
One of our young blokes has a pearler and we’re shouting from the rooftops “this kid will captain his country one day, it’s encouraging because we have another 4 or 5 coming through just like him in the next year or so”.

the only way he stays long term is if we see finals footy.
Yeah, he’ll go.
If he’s telling people this club is stunting his development after we’ve played the prick all year as an 18 year old, then we won’t keep him happy. We are years and years away from finals footy unless we keep all our talent together and boost them with 5 or 6 more outside hire pro’s in their mid to late 20’s.
It’s much easier to just join a club already setup for success.
