Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He’s a dynamic lock and the fact he could also fill in at hooker while Api was having a rest would be perfect,

If he gets his head right on the park would be an instant uplift, but at what cost. If we are banking on kids 100% you don’t want him leading them off the field.

He and Benji share the Maori background, maybe Benji is the right person to help him and get him focused ?
I understand signing someone like Brandon Smith would be a big risk, but we are staring down the barrel of 3 consecutive wooden spoons, possibly 4 of 5 if we don’t take a few risks and do something about it.
Depends if Benji lasts they year out

Well maybe just keep the team we have and keep finishing last.
Some of us only want squeaky clean players, but then complain when we don’t have a competitive team.
Have you ever heard of these two very true quotes;
“ Beggars can’t be choosers”
“Nice guys finish last”
If you finish 2nd you're a loser as well and your name doesn't go on any trophy. Coming 2nd is just 3 weeks better than coming last.

Based on Galvin’s actions and rumours of a similar scenario with Onitoni Large, they are doing a good job of being led astray by their own Manager and family.
Build a successful on field team and players won’t want th leave, even if it means a few of the players have some off field issues and don’t go to church on Sundays.

It's a great breakdown of the timeline.

I think it's both the manager and the family. The parents want the best for their kids, which is understandable. The problem is that LG is only in this position now because of the Tigers and there seems to be a real lack of respect given for how much the club has accelerated his career and earnings - especially when he was picked off the Parramatta scrap heap.

In terms of developing him into a superstar, they already have Benji as coach and Luai to partner next year with a world-class COE. I'm not sure what else they may want. That's a premier setup for a developing half. So I do not get that argument.

There simply has to be more $$$ on the table at another club with more success. That's it. I hope Richo finds out who it is and nails them to the wall. The NRL doesn't work if clubs develop players only for this to happen.
The thing is we have been a shitshow for 10 years now, didn't his moronic parents realise that 3 years ago when they were looking for a club for their little princess to sign with

A long time ago there were good reports on Morgan Knowles, a second row or lock forward from St Helens?. Tough northern UK forwards are what we require. An Ellery Hanley type would be worthwhile as well.
Knowles would be huge for us in the middle. Has energy, effort, experience & that right age (mid 20s) to take his game to the next level in the NRL.

Brandon Smith would be an excellent addition if he did not come with problems. If Storm and Easts can not turn his fortunes around then no chance at WT. Sounds like a modern day Chris Sandow who's career was ruined by gambling.
Thanks but No thanks to Brandon Smith.

Not happy Ice is allowed to leave. With a better spine in 2025 Ice running in holes would be great. Should never let players like him leave. Idiots.

I remember back in time when a couple of players were lured to a club by a big name supporter paying their gambling debts. They were big name players at the time and they got their new club to a grand final

I wonder what the lines of Api and Luai would say if asked if they believe Wests Tigers should try and sign players who have done off field issues such as Brandon Smith and potentially Taylan May should he be found not guilty ?
Would Stefano be more likely to stay if these types of players were possibly coming in ?
Morally it’s not ideal, but di we want to give ourselves a chance of winning our fair share of games of not ?
Anyone who believes we can catapult ourselves into the top 8 in 2025 without a massive roster overhaul is kidding themselves.

Using Galvin and Bula as trade bait, this team could be achievable for 2025.
Much more experienced and looks a genuine top 8 team to me.

  1. James Tedesco / Heath Mason
  2. Samuel Stonestreet / Charlie Staines
  3. Taylan May / Starford To’a
  4. Justin Olam / Onitoni Large
  5. Sunia Turuva / Heamasi Makasini
  6. Jerome Luai
  7. Jayden Sullivan
  8. Stefano Utoikamanu / Peter Hola
  9. Api Korisau / Talyn Da Silva
  10. David Klemmer / Tim Johanssen
  11. Samuela Fainu / Billy Burns
  12. Angus Crichton
  13. Brandon Smith
  14. Latu Fainu / Adam Doueihi
  15. Fonua Pole / Alex Seyfarth
  16. Alex Twal / Sione Fainu
  17. Royce Hunt / Jordan Miller
Development Contracts
Kit Laulilli
Chris Faagatu
Luke Laulilli
Tony Sukkar
Solomon Saukuru
Zac Clarke

** You would think Stef would be much more keen to stay playing in this type of team and it’s clear the Roosters don’t want Teddy past 2025. I know he’s ageing and slowing down, but I still think his presence would be of great benefit and in addition Luai would be a magnet to help sign others such as Angus Crichton and Royce Hunt etc
I think the Roosters would be very tempted to release Teddy early in return for Bula and Galvin.
This is your worst post yet....

Trade bait??

It's not the NFL - and NRL contracts simply don't work like that!

As for Teddy - May - Cheese etc...

Give this squad a chance and with maybe Naden and Sullivan leaving, money in the cap. 2 x experienced hard heads added this squad could be anything in 18months. Only way out is if these juniors play 50 games for the club.

1. Bula
2. Turuva
3. Douhei
4. Olam
5. Lobb/Staines/ Luke Lualilii (Needs to debut late in season)
6. Galvin
7. Luai
8. Klemmer
9. Api
10. Pole
11. Bateman
12. Samula
13. Matamua
14. Latu
15. Twal
16. Seyfarth
17. Sione
18. Kit Laulilii
19. Miller
20. Possible English Forward TBC
21. Heath Mason (Needs to debut late in the season)
22. Saukuru ( Big Strong Winger/Centre)
23. Jordan Miller (Worth Debuting late in season Hopefully has big pre-season for 25)
24. Josh Feledy ( Give another shot or get rid of him)
25. Narven Willet (Looks to be a talent)
Naden going opens up another roster spot (TBC)
The forwards don’t look good enough, we need 3-4 mongrel players or nothing will change
We may be just clearing some Top 30 to bring forward some of our youngsters. e.g. Bring in Kit, Faagutu or Saukuru early and modify deal. All 3 are in the squad next year anyway.

AJ gone doesn't effect next year at all. He was off contract at the end of the year like Simpkin

Good news!

I wondered why he didn't play NSW Cup on the weekend & some report he wasn't at the member's day yesterday.

That's 3 roster spots to fill by June 30.

Hopefully something is brewing not just promoting 3 development players.
The way it’s going we will be selling the ball boys next 😢
