Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Bulldogs currently 7th spot having last played finals in 2016.

They appear to be the closest team to WT situation.

Besides landing the best Centre in the game Critchton and players like Tracey, Mahoney and Burton last couple of season is there anything else WT could learn from the bulldogs so team can be challenging for top 8 spot on 2025/2026.

Thoughts?

yeah been mentioned a ton here already….

I’m a little reluctant to compare our situation to any other club… I think the Tigers are their own unique situation…

How would you compare our roster to the Bulldogs ? Who is our Kikau and Creighton equivalents? Both these guys are amongst the best in the game at their positions… Burton goes ok… I don’t rate him as highly as the other two but is probably a better player than anyone we have …

How is our roster rebuild going compared to theirs ..? Very slowly wouldnt you say? They pretty much turned over their entire squad in 2-3 years… things need to start happening here quick for things to change next season ..it’s probably looking like 2026 to even get off the bottom

Using Galvin and Bula as trade bait, this team could be achievable for 2025.
Much more experienced and looks a genuine top 8 team to me.

  1. James Tedesco / Heath Mason
  2. Samuel Stonestreet / Charlie Staines
  3. Taylan May / Starford To’a
  4. Justin Olam / Onitoni Large
  5. Sunia Turuva / Heamasi Makasini
  6. Jerome Luai
  7. Jayden Sullivan
  8. Stefano Utoikamanu / Peter Hola
  9. Api Korisau / Talyn Da Silva
  10. David Klemmer / Tim Johanssen
  11. Samuela Fainu / Billy Burns
  12. Angus Crichton
  13. Brandon Smith
  14. Latu Fainu / Adam Doueihi
  15. Fonua Pole / Alex Seyfarth
  16. Alex Twal / Sione Fainu
  17. Royce Hunt / Jordan Miller

** You would think Stef would be much more keen to stay playing in this type of team and it’s clear the Roosters don’t want Teddy past 2025. I know he’s ageing and slowing down, but I still think his presence would be of great benefit and in addition Luai would be a magnet to help sign others such as Angus Crichton and Royce Hunt etc
I think the Roosters would be very tempted to release Teddy early in return for Bula and Galvin.
Without doubt one of your worst ever posts mate. And it also ignores existing contracts

I gave genuine reasons as to how we could potentially persuade Stefano tn stay and how we could potentially persuade 5 genuine quality players to sign with us and it’s certainly not because they want to play alongside Bula and Galvin,
And not saying those 2 cannot be top quality players down the track, hence the reason I believe they could potentially be used as trade bait, but they are not even close to being good enough to retain or attract other top quality players at the moment.
Has Bula run over your cat or something? So much undeserved hate on a bloke with 30 games to his name while Bateman, Staines, Ice etc all seem to get a free pass.

Actually giving the coach a chance & not listening to outside noise.

Can hardly blame him.
He has been here through 3 wooden spoons, multiple coaches and new admin. Can’t blame him for wanting out.
I’ve read this a few times and at first I was a bit like, yeah. But you know what?
No. I can blame him, and he can suck it up and blame himself too. He delivered us 3 wooden spoons and through he and others inability to take responsibility for their own actions on the field that led to the demise of our club, coaches, admin, etc. I don’t see him playing over and above everyone else to the point that I can go it’s not his fault. There are more times then not instead of standing up and putting in extra effort despite those around him, he has hung his head and stood around under the posts with the rest of them.
But in saying that it’s not all his fault either and he’s a good young prop who we should be trying to keep bcoz I do believe he’ll get better especially with some decent help beside him.

Based on Galvin’s actions and rumours of a similar scenario with Onitoni Large, they are doing a good job of being led astray by their own Manager and family.
Build a successful on field team and players won’t want th leave, even if it means a few of the players have some off field issues and don’t go to church on Sundays.
What's the go on Onitoni Large. Is it Rugby Union?
He is buddies with Heamsai Makasini who was also playing Rep. Rugby.
Are they both going to disappear?

Find the comparison with the Dogs interesting - Gus is his 4th season at the Dogs while Richo has been here a few months, Ciraldo his 2nd year while Benji in his first. They did nothing before this year so if anything that would indicate we should give Richo and Benji some time.

I think Mole is one of the dumbest journos out there but I think he is close with someone in Galvin's life.

He was pretty spot on all pre season about what was going on and he had a bit of agenda he was pushing wanting him named in the team.
He's only close to agents these days. Players hate him. He just spreads whatever gossip gets sent his way by agents with profit on their minds.

They invested in signing quality players every off season, as well as striving for the best juniors across all grades.

And they've kicked our asses in every single grade as a result.

If we are being honest there are less than a handful of players currently playing in the UK Super League who are capable of doing anything that could improve us as an NRL team and those players are currently locked in long term contracts.
You don’t know whether they have a dream to play in the most prestigious RL comp though. Contracts can be broken.

On Galvin….. to say I’m disappointed would be a massive understatement. I’ve always liked Galvin as a player and his maturity on the field has always blown me away, however his maturity off the field has been nothing short of disgusting.

For a club to hand him his debut at 18 and give him the keys to our team knowing there’s gonna be an uphill battle with a team coming from back to back spoons and a roster set to be bolstered in 2025 with Luai (bought to partner him) and Turuva. Also considering no other team in the NRL would’ve handed him his debut as quickly as we did to also give him the opportunity to prove to the league he was ready for that leap.

To then be 8-9 games into his career and to start making demands he wants out immediately and as publicly as he has to allegedly blurt it out around the whole locker room has stunned me.

From a mail perspective don’t let the media companies fool you….. this is ALL about money. Moses has good connections in the media and I can assure you the planted reasons of anything else is just to distract you from the fact he can make double if he went elsewhere for 3 years and most likely to a club winning football games.

Richo isn’t Pascoe….. Lachie won’t be going anywhere and if he does it’ll be in 2027. I expected this from the slimily Moses but not from the kid. Utterly disappointed.
