OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Galvin and his manager have not asked for a long term Contract upgrade. The opposite.

Tigers have offered him a long term upgrade and at the moment Galvins management are refusing. Galvin wants an upgrade but no extension so he gets more money but leaves at the end of his Contract, or a release.
If his management/family stand firm on this, what do you think Richo should do MM ...

1 - set an example and have LG fulfil his contract at Wests Tigers but prioritise Latu as Luai's halves partner.

2 - accept he's going and advise his management that we will release him early if we can secure a player from the club he is going that meets our requirements in terms of value & need.

I was lucky enough to see Fittler's 1st game ever in 1st grade being Penrith V Wests Magpies and he cut the Maggie's to pieces.
From memory he was the same age as Galvin is now.
Galvin is good, but Imo he is slow, and I reckon he has been reading too much of the crap that has been said about him.
After his 1st game in the NRL where he admittedly played well, he was being classed as something really special and I admit to being excited as he did look good, but Imo that was only because he was playing with mostly crap players.
If we can believe what we read from the various tabloids about the $$$ being offered to him, I don't think he is worth it, and I feel he has got a bloody hide in trying to hold our club to ransom.
Tell him to bugger off.

He definately needs to wake up to himself and stop the prima donna stuff (if it is him pushing it).He or his adviser needs a reality check and the sooner the better

If Galvin has zero intention on staying, 1 Is preferable IMO. Assuming Latu can get his hammy right he can have a crack for the remainder of the year. Galvin can sit on the bench or play Magpies. Hes been solid but we've lost 9 straight and he is not a walk up starter.

1 for me.

This is driven by his management, and we need to stand up for ourselves or it keeps happening.

Put him in reserve grade for 2 years on his current deal OR he excepts the upgrade with the extension.

Simple stuff IMO

The thing is Latu at his young age is purged with hamstring problems.

Figure pulling strings in Tiger teen circus;

Wests Tigers teenager Lachlan Galvin seems like a great young bloke from a thoroughly decent family.
Which is why it’s so bizarre to see the agitation and the attempted manipulation around the rookie requesting an immediate release.

Galvin has played 10 NRL games this season and has a contract with Wests Tigers until the end of 2026.

Low and behold the agent puppeteering the strings on the Galvin situation is none other than Isaac Moses.

This is the same Isaac Moses who was involved when his cousin Mitchell demanded an immediate release to move to the Parramatta Eels.

The same year Moses also moved James Tedesco to the Sydney Roosters and Aaron Woods to the Bulldogs.

All three players – like Galvin – were local Wests Tigers juniors.

For unknown reasons Moses has now apparently thrown his toys out of the cot about Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall.

This is not unusual given Moses has a penchant for fallouts with some of the biggest and most influential figures in the game.

Nick Politis, Phil Gould and Ricky Stuart all point blank refuse to deal with him.

Good on Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson for having the cojones to reject the release request.

The mail is Richardson will meet Galvin’s parents this week to explain the Wests Tigers reasoning and outline the club’s plan moving forward.

And spare us the fluffy cupcake fairytales about the Wests Tigers refusing to provide him with a direct pathway into the NRL.

We can’t think of too many other NRL coaches who would have selected the 18-year-old in the no.6 jumper for the start of the season.

The only two games Galvin’s missed is when he was suspended for a hip drop tackle at the conclusion of round three.

He’s then been rested this week which was always planned as he recovers from a broken hand.

The Wests Tigers met Moses last Friday and offered an upgrade and an extension on Galvin’s current deal.

Moses immediately rejected it and then the circus began to unfold off the back of it.

Like we said at the start Galvin seems like a great young bloke from a good family.

But there are no winners when agents try to agitate with players under contract.

It’s also interesting to note NRL CEO Andrew Abdo has weighed in on the issue warning rules are rules around players under contract.

Just curious if true Moses immediately rejected the upgrade offer if he presented the offer to his client before rejecting it. If he did then how did he reject it straight away, if he rejected it straight away then he obviously didn't tell his client and that would be a massive breach of his agent accreditation I'm pretty sure.

Just shows he has an offer elsewhere for when he is released.

Or mate he had the answer from his client (and parents) before having the discussion.

Regardless… This was last Friday …Im sure the offer was presented again by Richo when he met with his parents yesterday …
