OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Clearly Cleary sees it differently.... to be honest.

yes he does …but as I said upthread … Cleary is not infallible..he brought in several duds and injured crocs when he as here …

The fact that a player that has been pretty poor like AJ, can get a gig at the three time premiers to me underscores how tight this player market really is and how tough it is to find any depth …

Player market is thriving at our club... like a garage sale

There's 2 major categories here....
1...an overhyped kid that was a great junior but has only played 10 NRL games, been suspended and now is resting an injury.!!!!
2...Greedy player manager who has a terrible reputation ..
I don't care how this turns out,I just want the WTs to be a competitive team and not a basket case lingering on the bottom of the ladder year in year out...
Faith in Richo...!!!

I can’t believe that everyone takes what Buzz said as anywhere near the truth.
Does anybody really think he’s going to be sitting in the dressing room with his teammates and announce he wants out of the club?
If it is true that Galvin has actually said that to another player in the dressing room with the very real possibility of it being heard by others, Galvin is a fool which I probably doubt, or the feeling in the room amongst all the players is similarly bad.
And if that is the case, we are in for a real crisis ahead.

I find Gavin's longevity at 5/8 is limited because he DOES'T HAVE A SIDE STEP! No evasive moves!
And his speed will decrease as he fills out. Smart enough, sets up runners, improved kicking game, A keeper IMO, but will most likely transition to the forwards in time. But someone needs to tell him that. It is the most likely scenario. Get used to it.
You're a straight runner, not an evasive runner!
Richo has compared him to John Sutton. It sounds like the club do see him taking that path eventually, but he's only 18 and it could be a long time before he transitions out of the halves. You also get the feeling that Galvin wouldn't be keen on that idea. At least not yet.

Thoroughly believe win some games and this all goes away. Season is gone but the next 5 or so games might be huge for the club. Galvin getting some good wins with his mates is crucial to keeping him.

Unfortunately wins look miles away at the moment.

The 1st time I seen him play in 1st grade u could tell he would have to end up as a ball playing lock , he could be as good as yeo at panthers

It's pretty common for a boom rookie to ask for a long-term contract upgrade after they've proven themselves. I don't blame Galvin, his family or his manager.

But I hope management makes the right decision for Wests Tigers. Paying overs for a 10 game rookie in a position we have covered while the cupboard is bare in others does not seem like a wise move.

Proven himself? What, after 2 good games? We're still losing and our attack has been shit.

So big Stef has said no to his contract offer otherwise we would have 100% announced it to save off some of the negative publishing we see daily , also our young Galvin , his manager has rejected our upgrade and extension if reports are true , no word from Richo on any media outlets stating we have met with Galvins family and explained our forward proposal for their kid and we are close , he knocked us back again or he has agreed , we need to get this sorted and also announce a few new buys as well , this negativity will keep hurting our club , gee I hope we can come out and beat Titans this week without our Galvin , shame Latu was not 5/8. Dam shame

He has played a lot more games against men than Galvin ever has and has produced the goods in KOE a shedload more than Galvin, he has also represented his country in a pretty strong side. I think Galvin is a good player but the way some people carry on you think he was scoring tries each week and carving up regularly. He has played some strong games but people labelling him now as the next Brad Fittler are on hard drugs. If he wants to go that bad I believe a combo of Latu and Luai will quickly have people saying Galvin who.
I was lucky enough to see Fittler's 1st game ever in 1st grade being Penrith V Wests Magpies and he cut the Maggie's to pieces.
From memory he was the same age as Galvin is now.
Galvin is good, but Imo he is slow, and I reckon he has been reading too much of the crap that has been said about him.
After his 1st game in the NRL where he admittedly played well, he was being classed as something really special and I admit to being excited as he did look good, but Imo that was only because he was playing with mostly crap players.
If we can believe what we read from the various tabloids about the $$$ being offered to him, I don't think he is worth it, and I feel he has got a bloody hide in trying to hold our club to ransom.
Tell him to bugger off.

Galvin and his manager have not asked for a long term Contract upgrade. The opposite.

Tigers have offered him a long term upgrade and at the moment Galvins management are refusing. Galvin wants an upgrade but no extension so he gets more money but leaves at the end of his Contract, or a release.
