Lachlan Galvin has ended speculation over his future by assuring Wests Tigers powerbrokers that he is fully committed to seeing out his contract.

Galvin sent a text message to coach Benji Marshall on Thursday night reiterating he wanted to be part of the club, just days after officials held an emergency meeting with his family.

Tigers chief executive Shane Richardson and head of football Matthew Betsey visited Galvin’s parents at their Gregory Hills home on Wednesday to discuss the teenager’s future after his agent requested a release last week.

Galvin is signed until the end of 2026, but his future was clouded after a series of requests to explore his options.

However, Galvin has decided he wants to be at the forefront of Tigers resurgence and has informed club hierarchy that he would fulfil his contractual obligations. Sources speaking on the condition of anonymity in order to speak freely said that Wednesday’s meeting, which Galvin did not attend, was a positive one.

The 18-year-old is considered a superstar in the making, a rare bright spot for the wooden spooners during his 10 NRL appearances to date. Several rival clubs were interested in his services should he become a free agent, but it is now a moot point after recommitting for the long haul.

Galvin has enjoyed a stellar career as a junior, winning 11 grand finals despite being let go by the club he supported, Parramatta. His NRL career also got off to a winning start, playing an impressive hand in the Tigers’ opening two victories.

However, it has been a difficult period since as the Tigers lost nine straight games. Galvin, who will be rested from this weekend’s clash against the Gold Coast due to a hand injury, has thought long about his development and decided as a playmaker and decided better days are ahead for the joint-venture outfit.

The Eaglevale-St Andrews junior is expected to partner incoming superstar Jarome Luai in the halves next season, while fellow Panther Sunia Turuva will give the side more strike out wide.

The future of another Tigers half, Bud Sullivan, is less clear. Sullivan has been granted permission to explore his options, despite being contracted until the end of 2027.
Would not be surprised if Buzz or The Mole's now make up that Latu Fainu & Samuela Fainu want out due to Latu's path being blocked by Galvin and Luai & Samuela wanting to stay with family!!! Again the cynic in me so used to this shit now.

Yeh mate, he's a mini To'o; smaller, but with better ball skills. Can cover fullback and I wouldn't be surprised if centre was an option either.

He was hitting blokes hard in NSW Cup as a 17-year old winger (18 this week).....
He’s not as small as people make out on here. He’s definitely taller than To’o and Turuva.

He’s also taller than his brother Kit. Just turned 18 so still growing.

That's actually what I thought when I saw him. My first impression was that he won't be the small Turuva like centre/winger type player, but possibly more the size if a Tago.

Staines is 5 years younger, has won a grand final and is a much brighter prospect than Alaimalo, yet you have Alaimalo ahead of him in the pecking order. I think based on that the only person who is dense as a tar pit is you.
Why? Because we rate players differently?

Jog on you daft pickle.

New to the forum despite following for many years. I think you make a really good point regarding Bud WANTING to stay not like some of our other so called super stars. Im from Port Beach and good mates with the Sullivan family especially the old man who could probably still play a bit now, and i can guarantee you one thing Bud wont give up trying. Hes only a kid and was a super star as a Junior with plenty of skills. Something tells me hes going to be a handy player to have at the club, and im hoping its not me being a touch biased, plus talking talking to the young man he seems very committed proven a lot of people wrong and really enjoys being around the place.
Welcome aboard, and thank you for the information and your post.. feels good to have some positive news to brood over, and I agree, Bud truly has all the weapons needed to be a teriffic footballer, and he sounds like has loyalty traits, seems to have became a Tiger that wants to play for the team and his coach, these are things that cannot be bought, that are worth more than $ and are the most valuable.. I’m stoked , stoked to hear all of it! 😀🤩😎

Absolutely.

He actually believes that if he criticises the club that somehow people are going to say

“ That’s right Lee, we miss you, we are all sorry and we were wrong. Please come back”

He’s delusional and needs to see a doctor.

And the kindergarten kid who designed the appalling logo has had to repeat so many times, he looks like a teacher.

What about the Anzac jersey, we were lucky it didn’t have the taliban featured on it.

He’s irrelevant these days and he knows it. He’s just bitter about it, really cut up that his club legacy is failure at every endeavour.

That he’s doubling down and further embarrassing himself, all it does his highlight his sacking for being an incompetent tool.
The guy is so up himself and full of his own self importance that he is now going to stamp his mark on the round ball game.

He was supposed to be such a lover of rugby league and long time supporter of Wests Tigers but in reality what ever he gets involved with whether it be Wests Tigers, Newcastle Knights, State of Origin and any other clubs that he has been involved in is just a means of making money and advertising his law firm.

The guy is just a fake and a well and truly up himself imposter who will do anything to make a buck, don't get me wrong, I have no problem with him involving himself in the round ball game, just wish he would have a go and get involved with something at the AFL and set them back a few years, which no doubt would benefit the game of rugby league.

I'm off Stefano but at the same time I'm worried about losing him. Even when he isn't playing great, there is a drop off when he leaves the field and we generally pick up again when he returns. So even when he isnt at his best he does improve us.
Partly because of his replacement and no Papali, Klemmer of late.
Some pommy props around and some around town can match Stefs efforts of late.
Defence is OK but missing in attack, time for a rest?
