Running the ball at or near top speed is the key.Why is Fisher Harris and JWH so good?
It's like there are just some props that have super awesome motors in them or something. Nathan Hindmarsh and Liam Fulton come to mind, though they were far more energetic then just "Tough" as the above are.
How on earth do you train for that. Easts seem to be able to do it, even though JWH is clearly a step above the rest. Melbourne I know make new starters work in a construction yard for 2 weeks so the players appreciate hard work. This makese sense, as I don't know how many people on the crazy NRL money appreciate how good an income they have.
Not many are willing to do it as the impact when being tackled is far greater, but the top echelon of players such as Fisher-Harris and JWH as you have mentioned and the likes of Reece Walsh, Dylan Edwards, Brian To’o are all players who almost always hit top speed quickly when running the ball.
Young Heath Mason is a player who demonstrates this trait, hence the reason I think he is one of our better up and coming players.
