Leichhardt Oval news

just play all games @ LO. Build some temp corporate facilities like they have at the F1 & Golf tournament on the northern end until the reno begins.

If the club really need to make money and stand on business, introduce dynamic pricing for ‘high demand’ games (i.e versing Sydney team on Sunday arvo) which can be avoided if you’re a member 📈👍

Outside of this

CS is cursed (currently)
accor is soulless
commbank is always gonna be parra’s ground
allianz is ok but very far for some supporters

happy to move to a new CS from 2035

The 100 parking spaces created will no doubt be corporate as well.

I’m not a fan of the designs it screams bandaid solutions and more money will be needed in a few years anyway.

At least they’re trying, be very surprised if we get the upgrades outlined as per the design for $40m
I hate it when reno's are done .....Mainly houses, and it's just another bit tacked on with very little thought or idea of aesthetics.
Shark Park looks like this NOW and it's supposedly all new... It looks terrible. Little but here... Bigger part there, an old section with a newer section 20 metres higher.
You see places with a new 2nd story and some of it doesn't match at all
...looks like it's from the wrong job.
Someone earlier mentiomed the Northern 'stand'. And hownthey think. It should be connect to the LR stand... I totally agree... That noethern end of the. Main stand I believe is where the main corporate area is... Yiu can expand on this and having it all look like it's original with the new stand looking similar to the old... Much better idea.
I think as it is currently the space between the two will be a cold dark shaded dead red... No man's land in the corner being the dead ball line touchline corner...it's already the dimmest dingiest part of LO.
Connection of the stand will be a huge improvement and improve it aesthetically very much imo.

You obviously don't listen very much to mainstream TV NRL news and comment. When ever West Tigers and LO are in the same article it is referred to as the "Spiritual Home of the West Tigers" not Balmain Tigers. That is why a spiritual home for the West Tigers is needed now where their junior ranks come from.

40 mil or what ever amount they have will not be enough to upgrade the ground to capitalise on the corporate dollar and satisfy the average punters requirements.

In a perfect world the government would build a state of the art ground in the South West, Cambo being the perfect location due to its proximity to a rail link. Then the club plays out of Cambo except for maybe two games at LO.

The left field option is Lidcome Oval as it is on a train link and has a lot land, also not that far from the inner west and South West. Trouble no government will throw money at it as it is close to Parramatta stadium and the Olympic park grounds.
Unfortunately, all so very true!

And only balmain dinosaurs think Leichhardt is the 8th wonder.
lol that’s just not true dude . It’s iconic in RL. C town is a hollow , empty soulless joint . I personally wish it wasn’t , as it’s far closer to where I live , and I wish it had a decent atmosphere .

I disagree and I know it goes against all the opinions and plans for the development of the club in the McArthur area, but I’d be happy if we played all of our home games at Leichhardt in the future. I realise it’s a joint venture and in fact I was a Wests supporter all my life before the two teams merged, but I want us to win and playing at Leichhardt regularly gives us the best chance at being a more successful team.

Campbelltown hasn’t worked, our nomadic existence playing over various venues hasn’t worked. We need to establish a solid home ground advantage similar to other local Sydney teams and Leichhardt offers the best option for that to happen, imo. Hopefully with the upgrade the ground will be brought up to speed enough for this to happen.
Correct. Melbourne's juniors are in Queensland and manage to make it to Olympic Park when they are picked. I don't know why playing at Campbeltown is so important to junior development.

i find it quite funny anyone thinks the ground we play at has any influence whatsoever on the result. our current team is poo and last week we played a team who probably put in their worst performance since they entered the comp and we won by 8. we should share the misery 6 games at each ground and be happy. canberra barring a miracle tomorrow will put 30 on us and it has nothing to do with the ground

I've been to many many games at Campbelltown over the years where the atmosphere has been amazing. Also been to games there where its been super quiet. Same at Leichhardt ive been to games where its been great and others where you could hear a pin drop most of the game.

This idea that is getting pushed on here that there is never an atmosphere is just false.

So if you’re correct it’s a player/result problem as I’ve said.

No, I think you’re wrong. Imo It’s a chicken and egg situation Ink.
Fans and supporters will build on what the players do. They need some success to really get involved, half hearted support for a losing team at the venue won’t cut it!
Yeh true it's a catch 22 thing I guess

I don't even go anymore because I just get angry at them most of the time... Can find a pokie to waste $60 on rather than travel all the way to LO or CSS and spend 80 minutes getting the shits

Good on those fans that can cheer when we finally score after being down 34-0...i can't
