Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Watched him play against the Fiji super rugby team on the Magic Round weekend. He got yellow carded for tripping and then sent off for a second trip later in the game. They were worse than Josh Reynolds at his tripping best.
He does have some random brain explosions in him. I remember one time for Storm he came back with a kick return and tried to hurdle over the tip of defenders!

In saying that he would look great to round out an all Fijian back three for us - Bula, Turuva and Vunivalu. I’m guessing he wouldn’t be cheap though.

That is why the CEO etc get paid the big bucks. Richardson is highly experienced so I trust his judgement to get the best outcome for WTs.
If another club would take a Naden or Staines without us chipping in much, that would probably be best outcome $$$ wise otherwise the lowest contracts to pay out next season would probably be Tumeth & Feledy, if we had to go down that path.

We can't even give away our outside backs paying freight. Says something about the quality of them. At least this seems to all be changing.

1. Bula
2. Makasini
3. Olam
4. Suruva
5. Laulili
6. Galvin
7. Luai

14. Mason

I am glad I don't have to make the decision but Richardson has in a way shown his hand with the UK trip. Clubs are always looking for depth.

Yes
I think. We can do better in the coaching staff than Farah and we need to keep evolving & improving
No Brainer really
Why does everyone think Robbie is a shite coach? Genuine question. I got know idea if he’d be good or not?
Or are we basing this from his perceived personality?
I’m prepared to follow the herd, I just need to know where it’s going first.

Tumeth will be paid out.

I would like activate Sezer's option but if we can't offload Sullivan, Bateman or Naden then I would let him go if another club wants him or give him a coaching gig with us.

So ATM we have 1 spot which Papalii's.

Depending on Stef we may have 2.

Ideally for me we resign Stef & Sezer. Offload Sullivan & upgrade Makasini.

If we somehow managed to offload another my God I would throw the bank at Angus Crighton.

1. Bula
2. Turuva
3. Douiehi/Makasini*
4. Olam
5. Staines/Laulilii
6. Galvin
7. Luai
8. Utoiukamanu*
9. Korosaui
10. Klemmer
11. Sam Fainu
12. Angus Crighton*
13. Bateman/Pole/Matamua
14. Mason/Da Silva/Sezer/Latu Fainu
15. Twal
16. Seyfarth
17. Bateman/Pole/Matamua

Still have To'a, Feledy & Lobb for backline depth.

Multiple forwards.

Also 3 development spots - Faataape, Porter for at least 2 of those.

Our conundrum atm is we currently have 30 players under ‘possible’ contracts for next season. Possible includes Stef & the options that Sezer & Tumeth have in their contracts.

So until we offload/release players or advise options are not being taken up, we cannot recruit any more players from externally or promote like Makasini to top 30.

What we can officially do is sign Makasini to a Dev deal for ‘25 with top 30 in ‘26.
We need to use these development and T&T contracts to our advantage. Used correctly or advantageously, you could have 36ish spots in the top 30?
We need to be rorting the cap better. I would employ an accountant, a lawyer and an analyst, as cap rorting specialists.
I would rather win more games and get caught rorting the cap than letting all the other teams win doing it.
TicTag Win more games at any cost.

We have 28 out of 30 spots filled for next year now that Ice has been let go, if Stef does stay we only have one left. Unless Tumeth does somehow end up staying but I do agree with you that the club will pay him out to let him go. There might be some more movement soon but again maybe not. Makasini I hope we do keep, but I wouldn’t be giving him a top 30 contract for next year as he won’t be even eligible to be named until July next year due to his age. I could probably live with a development contract if absolutely needed even though development players can play from Round 1 now but top 30 players should all be at least 18 minimum as you never know if you’ll need them at some point. Same applies to Onitoni Large doesn’t turn 18 until August next year. Angus Crichton I would love to have but he ain’t coming unfortunately.

Love ur team , but I still think we are short two mongrel forwards , one prop one backrower , they don’t need to be stars , more like workhorses , but better than twal and seyfarth , the sharks are overloaded with these type of players

  1. Jahream Bula / Onitoni Large
  2. Sunia Turuva / Jeral Skelton
  3. Justin Olam / Charlie Staines
  4. Adam Doueihi / Heamasi Makasini
  5. Taylan May / Luke Laulilli
  6. Lachie Galvin / Heath Mason
  7. Jerome Luai / Latu Fainu
  8. Stefano Utoikamanu /Jordan Miller
  9. Api Korisau / Talyn Da Silva
  10. Oregon Kaufusi / Sione Fainu
  11. Samuela Fainu / Chris Faagatu
  12. Fonua Pole / Billy Burns
  13. Justin Matamua / Kit Laulilli
  14. Aidan Sezar
  15. Alex Seyfarth
  16. Alex Twal
  17. David Klemmer
Development Contracts;
Reuben Porter
Alex Lobb
Tony Sukkar
Solomon Saukuru
Zak Clarke
Tim Johanssen
Lachlan Broederlow
Bailey Hodges
Cayne Nicholas
Herman Tofaeono
Navren Willett

** I know plenty of our supporters object to Taylan May, but he has not been convicted of any crime and we desperately need a powerful metre eating outside back. The fact he’s just as comfortable playing centre or wing is an added bonus.
** Oregon Kaufusi would add another big powerful prop, he has good mobility for his size and signing him would hopefully help entice Utoikamanu to stay.
** Jeral Skelton adds another big bodied powerful outside back and Billy Burns adds desperately needed size, mobility and depth to our edge back row.

I’m prepared to follow the herd, I just need to know where it’s going first.

Context: Robbie Farah is a club legend. He was a warrior for us and I miss having him in our team.

However. Robbie is not so much of a people person. That doesn’t make him a bad person. It does create an obvious talent gap for an aspiring coach.

I would prefer it stay out of specifics and I am sure plenty of others on here would have heard the examples.
