Samuela is pretty much the only player we have managed to secure who fits this mould. I’d go as far as extending and increasing his current deal.
I hate going off prematurely but he is to us what Kikau was to the Panthers when they blooded him in.
Secondly I’d being looking at Tuponiua to be his Back row partner. After a slow season recovering from an ACL he is looking a fine player once more.

He was just starting to show his dominance in NSW Cuo this season before he got injured.
Regardless he is stuck behind a long list of good standard props at the Sharks and is ripe for the picking.

I don't think Tupouniua is someone we should be angry on missing out on. Especially on a 4 year deal.

Agree. I mentioned this a few weeks back.

He averages around 60mtrs over his career which last 2 years is slipping, His body has struggled alot over the last 3yrs and his work rate is low.
He isn’t getting faster either - he has slowed down alot. Offloads and line breaks dried up which is saying something on the Roosters team.

What he adds is the occasional fearless hitups/lines on the right edge which would add but as he gets older his impact will reduce as well.

Thats crap. They signed 5 key pieces then folded in a bunch of 3-400k players around them all that play 100% footy mixed with bringing in some pathways talent.

We bring the key pieces in but have no backup for losing other pieces. It’s like we play a junior or aquire base rather than a balanced view.

I agree, but there is a gulf between knowing it and proving it and I doubt anyone in the NRL hierarchy would have the appetite or nads to pursue it.

Brandon Smith joked about "brown paper bags" after the game Sunday night. It might not come in brown paper bags, but they are for sure offering extra money/ perks (aside the publicised contract dough) to entice the players they want over to Bondi.

It can't just be that good players are willing to take less to play for the Chooks, they've had their share of lean seasons whilst having a roster of players poached from teams that were at the time performing better.

Tuaki was a beast, I was at that RD 24 match v Parra where he got injured. If he didn't do his ankle and if Bryce Gibbs wasn't sent from the field, WT win that game and who knows probably the comp.
That decision to send off Gibbs was crap, he got marched because of his reputation. No one from any other club would have been marched for that minor infringement.
