Stefano Utoikamanu #241

The talk has def made his game drop off, but i cant see it going anywhere but down from here. To me it just shows weakness. Make a decision and get on with it. Let your footy do the talking. Playing and dragging it out in the media for attention and to up his profile in hindsight probably wasnt/isnt the best way to do it for him and his game so he should understand that and sack his manager for doing this to him. But he wont because hes a big dumb idiot.
It is quite possible he isn't the most intelligent of players...

His manager has killed him this year. He’s in the news every feckibg day.

Yep I agree, get rid of the log, quite a few of his attempts to make tackles are shockers one open hand on opponents back as though his other hand and arm were broken, would not feed the dope get rid of him,
Let his current contract run out and then let him leave but please don't sign him for a further 5yrs and waste $4ml on him, supporters want players that can put there heart's into it in return for decent payment, not someone who is big, who thinks that's all he needs to have to get paid big money.

I would love to pull the offer on him. Say we are going in another direction. If you want to stay in 25 we will honour the contract with you playing off the bench. Wipe him.
We would need to be smart about it for a change. Actually get someone better first. Quietly.
Or we could make a massive play for someone who is definitely better knowing there’s no way we get them, but loudly.
Problem is, who are these better props that are also available.
There’s no point chucking a tanty, he can be a decent prop at times, he’s only young and will get better. Especially with better players around him.
He needs to have a serious go too though, and he’s not.

I've always been a big fan of Stef. Have always felt he will become an elite prop. I still think he will. But it's really hard to defend him after his efforts the last 2 weeks. He was terrible in this game and his defensive efforts in particular were a major reason why they lost. Can only assume the contract saga is really messing with his head. For his sake i hope it gets sorted one way or another asap and he can get back to just concentrating on his footy.

Someone mentioned it before and I agree....sit him out next week. Tell him to get his contract sorted similar to Turuva did at Penrith. His mind is elsewhere at the moment.

I mean the guy (or his manager) are talking about him going back to Parra who supposedly treated him so poorly that he had to leave. He’s starting to get Glenn Morrison/Matterson vibes. Hope I’m wrong.
Yep.

You can tell he is tanking.

He is nowhere to be seen in the first 4 hit ups if the set, often out the back watching it all unfold.

He may have talent but his attitude is just dead ordinary. Not really the type of player to build a club around.

Id drop him to reserves until we see otherwise.

Mattereon and Moses also got punted and went back. Clearly something in the water.

Probably give him Monday to Thursday off , and tell him to sort contract , bring him back Friday and access where he is at and simply ask him are you in 100% this game if not we give another guy a crack , let him tell the coach he is not up for it , keeps all the pressure off the club and coach , I’m ok if he misses next game , but we need the decision made , stay or go , Pole upgrade and extension is where I would be busy now along with a couple of recruits for next season

stef is contracted to us for the next 2 years though so we can't pull the offer can we ?
All it means is he is free to look around but ultimately can elect to stay and we can't do anything about it
if he doesn't move on we can have the same circus next year too

I'm talking about the extension offer that is on the table. And he is contracted for just next year isn't he?
