LIVE GAME Round 18 vs. Storm

Live Game Discussion
That Storm side last night was pretty weakened and at times quite disorganised in attack and defence.
Yes the club is coming first, but that performance from them was not elite.
Still ran 7 tries past us though.
Its not Christmas yet, Santa is not flying over your place, you can put the rocket launcher down!

They sit at the head at the league table, they get to carve up, we are still fighting it out with the dog positioning ourselves for leftovers!

We’ve managed to avoid coming last for two weeks a row. That’s progress lol.

We just want to play better footy than last year, I think that’s apparent.

That said, I accept your standards are always high.

Hughes is their main man - having a stellar season. While ever he is on the park they will trouble most sides and have done so, without Munster and Paps for the best part of the season. Wishart is probably one of their most improved, and Falaago is an attacking weapon.

Lol 7 tries.

Those of us who remain cautiously optimistic about the somewhat tragic loss, we are just going to have to accept being clubbed over the head by @Tucker until next week.

No way around it I’m afraid.
I really don’t care that much anymore mate.
When you have the worst attack and second worst defence, you lose games. Been that way since Adam first banged Eve under an apple tree.
It’s not on individuals, the whole organisation does not work hard enough.

Just on Sezer…. As much as he brings some direction and we look better with him in the side, his D (both in effort and reads) can be really poor at crucial times and his kicking has also been pretty average lately. He needs to own 5th tackle options better as well.
In saying this I would take him on again for next season instead of Sullivan, as a back up.
Im sure Luai fixes these problems next year.

I've said it all along, Galvin is super fit with an amazing competitive nature. That's what makes him great, not pure talent.

I like him a lot, and think we need him. Just not sure he has that natural touch of class a long term 6 has.

Agree 100%. At 18 he still will grow into his body over the next few years, especially with the weight sessions and a few more off seasons. Hard to imagine him remaining as a 5/8 however there has been some quality big 5/8s go around in the past. His D issues will improve once he puts on more muscle and finds his shoulders.
Unless we improve our squad dramatically I see him playing out his remaining contract at 5/8 and probably moving on.

All this hate for AD is madness in my mind..

It's his 3rd game back and he didn't concede a try down his side with Stains and that alone is a big win.
He tries his heart out and Yes he could have passed to Bula but he also might have thought it was a Storm player coming so can forgive him for that.
He kicked for Bula's last try and he looks dangerous in attack and very hard to bring down.

He is one of the 1st picked in the team and is the best centre we have.

Anyway, just my thoughts so carry on ...

Derway is typical of a lot of players they have here … he has some flaws … probably in a better team playing with better plays … the coach could minimise these flaws and he would be considered an above average player … but here they get exposed ..
Shortly after that play, they score 2 tries back to back. It turned out to be a huge shift in the game.

I have looked at it again and it's possible I may have been harsh. To be more objective, Bula was cruising up behind his line of sight just when he needed to make a decision on whether to swerve to the right or left of Paps. He ultimately turned right to the outside of Papenhauzen and blew the opportunity, but one might argue the fullback is usually supporting up the middle so he should have maintained his line. It's easy to criticize from the lounge room with the benefit of slow mo and camera angles I suppose.

I'll take a blown try here and there, because as a player, Douehi does break the line a lot compared to our other guys and we have been lacking that as a team.

just watching the full replay now …more disappointing then the blown try was the 2 tries back to back you mentioned …. They had a long period of attacking their line at 12-6 up… they were 10 yards out from their line and Matamua dropped it cold … 2 plays later Wishart gapped them which led to a try a couple of play the balls later .. the break was down ADs side …probably him and Bateman to blame …

The Storm then scored again the next set of six down the other side … Olam got a bit exposed here with his stiff knee …

This period and the sin bin were the difference in the game …
