Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Just out of ignorance and interest, what sort of money do these guys get paid ?
Assuming they don’t do it for love ?
PS I think you mean Andrew Fifita or has Des let DF go ? No wonder Slater won’t pick him 🤣🤣🤣
Andrew Fifitas twin bro, David.

I'm not sure of wages but knew a lad who played for Lakes United and he was paid $1000 a game, no matter the result.

They mostly work jobs.
Heard Blake Austin say he's working at a high school on the Central Coast that has a targeted sports program.

I've been critical of Charlie Staines most weeks, but I have to admit, he is playing pretty well this season. If he is the #2 winger, he's a decent option.

Turuva is the new winger next season. The re-emergence of Doueihi pretty much seals that for mine.
Chad, I’m struggling to get past the reality that Adam only made two passes in the entire game on the weekend

Potential
Has been the Achilles heel of the tigers recruitment for some time
There is a deep insight in this comment.

The Tigers are a club that for years gambled as a way of making decisions.

Benji as coach with zero experience is the best example. But there are loads of others. They gamble that payers with a crazy amount of injury will have a better run at the Tigers. Reynolds is an obvious example.

You even see it with previous hero’s and juniors versus Faatape. Faatape (apologies spelling) played solid in his early appearances. Instead of letting him stay in role we dropped him and gambled on others.

Second to that we have a history of shafting people. It started with Sheens years ago. Then it was verbal commitments on money not followed through, then it was trying to push people out who were on contact (clashes included).

We then wonder why players shaft us.

I don’t remember players shafting us until we shafted Sheens. At least not like our recent run has been.

Yeah I heard him say that on the radio. I had a distinct feeling disgust. What a fool. I was embarrassed for him.
I think people need to realise that personalities in the media are incentivised to say dumb things likely to provoke a reaction for engagement. Pay no notice of the rent-seekers and youll be happier for it.

Dont know if this is the case with Tallis or he is really that dumb. Either way he is irrelevant

Seems like nothing cooking at the moment

Still hoping we can potentially snare Talagi

Re-signing Pole and Sione Fainu probably priority atm though

I guess Ute has probably made up his mind

Tevita Pangai Junior,
On field for first 24 min, and showed more than Steph does in full game.
There is a bloke in the Facebook group who is delusional about Stef’s ability, he reckons Stef is far better than Collins in every facet. He got quite offended when I said Stef isn’t even in the top 10 props in the game. Then he wanted me to name them, I named 14 and could of kept going

It depends which Stef we are talking about as it’s a big difference between his best and his worst games.
When he’s at his best, playing with aggression and running the ball with purpose he is a top 5 prop in the game, problem is we only see that a few times per season at the moment,

Entrance Tigers.
Plays in the Newy Comp.

Blake Austin, David Fifita and Tony pellow are playing for them at the moment.
I played for The Entrance Tigers when I was a has been from Balmain u'23s. Spook Spencer was coach. Toughest years of my life. Stood toe to toe with Kevin Hastings at Wyong and ended up with 16 stitches. Knocked him out in a charity boxing match 6 months later. Runner up in 2 grand finals. God I hate the central coast.

Lobb isn’t explosive quick over 20m but does wind up over 40m+. I think Willett is similar.
Unfortunately I think that 20m speed is way more important. Very rarely do players get in the clear to for long distances in the NRL.

I think both Lobb and Willett are going to be too slow to be NRL wingers. I do think Willett could become a good rangy back rower if he grows into his body.
