Digging around in the Rugby League Project at looking at South Sydney Rabbitohs exactly 20 years ago. You can see a similar club to where we were at.
At the start of 2004 Shane Richardson commenced at the club in the CEO position credited for rebuilding the Panthers over the previous 2 years.
Over those two previous seasons, Souths came last.
(with 2002 being ranked as 14th due to the Bulldogs salary cap scandal).
The following year after Richo had a foot in the door for a season Souths avoided the wooden spoon coming 13th this time though still suffered the worst PD and Against in the comp.
The following year in 2006 despite the good news story of the privatisation deal of Crowe and Holmes a court Souths went back to their rightful place at the bottom of the lot ranked only 14th end of round 1 only to end up at 15th for the remaining rounds winning just 4 games.
However as 2006 was unfolding and transition of the change of ownership / management was taking place Souths managed to sign the biggest on field deal in their history signing up NZ international and Premiership winner Roy Asotasi.

We need a Roy Asotasi deal. Who would it be?
With both Spencer Leniu and Leo Thompson on low deals with their clubs could it / should it be one of them that gets offered the 800+k deal that Stefano has been considering?

Should just change our name to the Nomads and be done with it. Since Richo's handing out home games, how about one at Bathurst? Nice and close to lots of us out here, and since the panthers use it, the corporate facilities must be ok, too.
 
Harsh tigerland but I have to agree with you, so far he hasn't impressed me, all I can see that he's done is totally pissed of the playing group with his failed trip to the UK to flog off players, you do that stuff here through their managers

We need modern facilities in our core stadium,so it was Commbank or Alliance
Bunnies will come to same solution at some stage,and share Alliance with Rooster surely
Leichardt will never be more than a novelty ground...Cambo a little more when facilities are improved in medium term when we have a stronger foothold there with locals
So I think Richo is spot on
Gosford this w/e is a joke..I normally attend this match vs Bunnies every year with 3 buddies who support both teams,but its just too difficult

Ah I was wondering how long it would take for people to turn on Richo, and the answer is "about 6months".

Understandable of course, just that there was such a tremendous backlash against the previous administration, and not entirely unwarranted, but the new guy barely gets half a year grace.

We've now done it - roster overhauls, multiple coaches, sacked a few CEOs, even sacked our major sponsor, restructured the board - and yet the team still can't put together 3 wins in a row.

Fans are justified in being beyond pissed off. The boss whoever that is is taking on 13 years of baggage and rightfully can cop it.

❓ Cubs squads for 2024
❓ Some pathways retention signings (hopefully Makasini, Large, Taupau-Moors & Godinet)
❌ Any 30 additions which were made prior to July 1
❓ Experienced assistant coach added to the club for season 2025
❓ Stef commits
❓ New major sponsor for 2025+
❓ Release of players for 2025 (to free up roster spots for any new signings for '25)

I for one thought we'd have filled the board positions by now & would have been able to announce at least 1 pathways signing.

PS. I have seen regular announcements on Instagram from player agents about elite young players signing with clubs (either into top 30 or pathways deals) but nothing about Tigers juniors in months.

It's now 15 July & we're still waiting for all those items with a ❓ I'm hoping we're building for a barrage of big 'positive' announcements.

Of course he isnt going to shit on his new employer but he did come out strongly at the start of the year and wax on about how good the current squad was. Id like to see him come out now and address the fans about the future. He has been absent for weeks.

As people have pointed out, we have 30 under contract i believe. Nothing can be announced in that situation although I am sure it’s being worked on. Richo has said our squad is 80% there pretty early on, he has also said we need outside backs. He has also forced Stef into a decision soon.

Hold fire on the Chicken little stuff, 2024 is going as expected.
