Lol, he's 3-4 weeks from first grade. He has been so awful in first grade, he needs to demonstrate the ability to dominate NSW cup on a weekly basis, backing up with strong consistent performances. Then, and only then, can he be promoted.

For too long one good game gets a promotion. Players aren't made to work hard and perform consistently to get ahead. We can't help injury replacements but form needs to last longer than a week

Players need to earn first grade. This includes dropping Stef and Douiehi to NSW cup.
Well said.
I like your logic on pre-requirements for NRL promotions AND DEMOTION of out of form players.

Aside from yesterday’s game Bud was clearly our best attacking player against the Dragons. Many wanted to lambast him for getting sin binned in that game, if his team mates were not getting blown off the park physically there would have been no need for his actions which led to being sin binned.
I’ve been impressed with the effort and commitment Sezer has shown for us, but he’s not in the same class as Sullivan as an attacking player.
With Api highly likely to be out injured, starting Sezer at 9, Sullivan at 7 and TDS at 14 would be our best way of coping without him.

Some good tries scored. Plenty of runners in motion hitting holes that the halves fed as required.
It’s what we asked for from them. Good win.
Over to you Benji.
So many players in motion hitting holes was interesting and great to see as we have barely seen it at NRL level.

What a great win from the Magpies boys yesterday!!!
Great performance from Casey, Sullivan, Toa, Latu, Aho and Finau
Extremely classy win from the boys. I thought they capitalise on opportunities a lot more then the chooks but I wouldn't say the roosters played poorly it was just a very smart win fro the Magpies.
From the get go Casey looked excellent. 100% effort on every play. Seems like the "challenge the kick" every time has gotten to reserve grade too. I think Casey might slide into the first grade team by the end of the year taking over from Faatape.
Sullivan definitely stepped up in terms of leadership. Leading the park around very well. Miles above the performance from last week and providing opportunities every time the Magpies entered the 20. Due to the Api injury he will play next round.
Starford Toa was excellent. His first touch of the ball he ran it for over 30m. So dangerous with the ball in hand and was breaking tackles every time he touched the ball. Starford definitely looked out of place (in a good way) in terms of ball playing. Quite dangerous with the ball in hand. Still has a bit to go in terms of getting back to full health.
Latu Fainu look awesome on his return. Very happy with his minutes and his way of play. Looked great complimenting Sullivan. I feel it might be a headache once he starts performing. Don't forget he is much more highly touted as a junior then Galvin. I feel Galvin got the rub of the green in terms of Latu being injured in preseason. One day Latu will be offloaded for some good cash or converted into a 9 or 14 and I would love to see that.
The forward pack was surprisingly good. With TDS and Kit dropping out last minute to I presume to play first grade next week. Some fringe reserve grade player Aho and Finau looking great. Aho looked very good and high volume too. I was sitting in the stands wondering if I was actually looking at Aho or someone else. TBH I had never heard of him before.
Heath Mason looked great but his size will never do him favours. Will need to permanently move to the centres if he wants a shot at first grade. To be frank he will never cut it.
I find in reserve grade they play players out of position for the sake of playing them. Johanssen was miles out of place a prop but still did his job.
On the new singning Tasipale, he looked fine. Some great runs but he looks a little fat. Don't know if he can go the full 80.

Great performance. Knew it was coming on the back of last week. I think this side with stay together for the rest of the season barring injuries. Warriors will be tough but I think they're up for the challenge.

No, he's not.
He's still the only organising 7 at the club in any grade.

He doesn't have the fitness to play 9,
He actually does! He is one of the fittest in the club behind Galvin. I think he'd make a 3rd hooker option next season behind Api & TDS ... utility value.

Sullivan has no kicking game. None whatsoever. Other than kicking the ball dead or doing a little chip straight to the fullback.

Johnassen looked out of place at prop? He's apparently been in our top 3 each week for the past couple of months whilst playing at prop. How did he look out of place?

I believe hes too small and quick. I think he is definitely more suited at second row. I think he would look great at 2 row.
When you say small, I trust you mean 'lean' as he's a tallish middle. I believe he's only 21/22 this year so some solid pre-seasons in the gym will help build up his frame. What I like about him is his post contact metres through leg drive & overall aggression and willingness to get involved in both A&D.

Roosters are shit but... cant believe i said that.. No junior system. Just cash.. big cash....

Well he's currently the only prop at the club, in any grade, averaging 150m a game. Which given his supposed lack of frame is a sensational effort.

He needs to be the next forward promoted to the nrl squad.

What is preferred---------post contact metres.......which are slow, energy sapping with a slow PTB?

OR a fast contact, eg. to one defensive player, straight to the ground facing forward, for a quick PTB?
