OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Unless we have 5-6 regular first graders coming next year/2026 along with Jerry and Tuv this place is still gonna suck shit. He cant do it all on his own with zero help in the forwards and backline. This place is cooked for years to come if Richo and Benji dont pull their finger out of their Hoppa and employ some addition first graders.

Gal
Bula
Fainus
Pole
Olam
Doohey
Api
handful of kids coming through

Scratch that, Jesus that's pathetic. Need 10-12 first grades coming, Cant think of anyone else in the current roster worth 10 cents.

We need to start being shrewd. Make a plan pick
& stick. Got to be shrewd. Call up player managers'
and tell them that they're client isn't in the clubs
plans moving forward and they would be serving
them best by finding another club. New management
not our fault. We desperately need to move guys on.

Schuster at 13 for us next year is a no brainer imo.
Matamua is lucky to be in grade with how he's been
performing. Samoan connection with Luai too. Don't
think we'll be seeing Galvin move to 13 anytime soon

His future at the club is untenable. Fans loathe the douchenozzle now. Shit performance after shit performance aside, the guy has shown zero love of the jersey. Piss him off.

Yeah people are pissed especially after captaincy
comments and what not. He was allowed to explore
his value elswhere though. No harm done 4 now,
at least. Last few weeks were a tough watch though,
the club have given him space and privacy it's good

The forwards are a let down as they havent dominated games as I thought they may have given their combined experiences and talent. Thats not to say they havent done their job. We often enjoy good field position - and that is not from an over-abundance of penalties, our average set meters are pretty competitive every week - and that is not from kick return meters, and most weeks we are getting multiple forwards hitting 100m - we had 3 blokes crack 150m against Melbourne for example. The pack generally give the halves and the back 5 enough chances to score to stay in the contest.
We do need them to be more dominant in defence though thats for sure.
I also think we seem to get dominated in the ruck in attack but can’t reciprocate that when defending. Teams get a roll on and we are on the back alternatively our attack can appear slow. The Sharks for example, had plenty of time to set their defences and were consistently in our face, forcing us to look rushed. Wrestling coach?

Its pretty damn obvious where our issues are. Easier said than done as an armchair CEO but holey shit its pretty obvious to blind Freddy.

Winger and Centre are desperately needed to sure up the backs, our depth there isnt too bad to cover an injury here and there (Toa, Stains, Faats, LL) but its a must to grab an additional first grade ready winger and centre to walk into the starting line up.

On the other hand......our forwards all over the park 💩

Long 3 years ahead.

Sometimes lightning strikes twice. I reckon we can
win a comp in the next 5yrs, get on board boys haha

He needs guys to buy in and go with him.
Api, Bula, Turuva, Doueihi, Galvin, Fainu brothers, Pole, Bateman, Olam are a good start. We need that many again to come through or preferably be brought to the club to be competitive and have him make the difference.
A couple of shit crazy props, a rep level back rower and centre and a very good winger at a minimum need to be purchased.
Agree with you on this one Tucker,
The concern I see with your list is the lack of forwards especially hard hitting middles.
I think we saw in the 3rd Origin game no matter how good your backs are if your forwards aren’t winning the battle the backs don’t get to create many chances.

The pack has at best held their own at various points this year imo which is unders what I thought the might be capable of. They are way less mobile and dynamic than I thought and have been rolled at various points in the year. The exception being Fainu who ironically wasnt in the starting line up to start the year. It was an area I thought might be the strength was expecting them to be more dominant for longer.

Agree though that with a better backline the forwards are servicable. But our backline was always going to be an area of weakness this year.

It's called chemistry and having similarities. The Storm have a Kiwi contingent that excels when players are out for origin. Souths have an Indigenous culture of players that connect well together. Panthers have a lot of country boys and Samoans from Mt Druitt that have their own group connections. Warriors have a large Maori contingent that plays heavily into their club culture. Cowboys have a mix of Torres Strait Islanders, Indigenous and country boys. It might seem like nothing, but chemistry is everything.

For the record, I think setting up cliques within clubs is a stupid idea.
However his heritage is not the reason I want Josh Schuster nowhere near this club...its that he is a fking fat lazy lump of shit with an attitude problem.
We need some psychopaths who will intimidate and hurt oppositions...guys like Liam Martin, Angus Chrichton and Victor Radley.
Notice zero mention of their physical characteristics?

Yeah well that doesnt lessen its validity.

Haha yeah you crack me up, it's all good though
we have some good jousts on here but it's all good.
I haven't got any 'real life's issues with anyone on
here though 4 the record, this is not that serious.

Point taken, although I didn’t mention characteristics,
I was just saying he plays for the same nation, anyway,
agreed. We need more psychopaths. I noticed the
game in general isn't really fond of the hitmen types
with new laws and safety protocols, but there aren't
a lot of guys in the league who pride themselves
on the physical stuff on the defensive end besides
the guys you named and a hand full of other players

I still think Prince or Ellis wins that prize at the moment. However I can see Luia being ahead of those 2 in a year or 2.
Prince and Ellis were great signings no doubt. And their performances made them into Tigers legends.
However, at the time of their signing they were not near the marquee level that Luai already is at.
Hence, as a recruit from the market, IMO, Luai is the highest profile and biggest signing we have ever made.
I can’t think of any rivals to that, unless you consider McCracken et al in our maiden year. I won’t even mention Adam Blair.

We only need one big dominating prop if Stef goes. Pole and Twal can help out along with sione fainu. Bateman should just go permanently to England. Olam started well this year but has been shit the last 2 months and if he continues for this year we might need to find 2 new centres. We don't need a rep level centre, just a good defender like Nick Meaney who is hard working. Staines, turuva will be the wingers next year, like they were when they were at penrith. Api will only regress further and Da Silva needs more minutes. Sam Fainu is someone who can go even better next season. Galvin may play lock but regardless he belongs in the starting 13 somewhere if Latu Fainu kills it. Sullivan is a good option for 14, I wouldn't rule out a Koroisau/Luai halves combination even

Wasn’t it said that Turuva was coming here to play in centres?

We are a prop short now. Klemmer is also regressing. Steph leaves and our front row stocks are 17th in the comp.
Bateman should just go permanently to England.
You are ok with us losing two current teir 1 International backrowers?

Olam has a knee injury. Get it fixed and he’ll be good for next year. We need a very good centre to join him. If this can’t be achieved, I’d try Galvin there.
Staines, turuva will be the wingers next year, like they were when they were at penrith.
They are serviceable. Not top teir by any stretch but will do a job.
Api will only regress further and Da Silva needs more minutes.
Agreed. I’d split their workload minutes 50/30.
Sam Fainu is someone who can go even better next season.
He is a green shoot. Losing forward mentors is a real shame for him. Every forward who leaves will need to be replaced by quality and experience to help bring the Fainus, Pole and whoever else on.
Galvin may play lock but regardless he belongs in the starting 13 somewhere if Latu Fainu kills it. Sullivan is a good option for 14, I wouldn't rule out a Koroisau/Luai halves combination even
Galvin has options. Hopefully his ego or parents won’t get in the way. He could be a top teir lock. I don’t think the same can be said for him at 5/8. I would keep Sullivan as backup,
