Stefano Utoikamanu #241

[Vicious]

Hopper on NRL 360 saying to put a line through the tigers for Stef. Saying it'll be the dogs or storm

They are off their heads.
The Bulldogs may be doing well on the competition ladder, but they are zero chance of winning the competition this season and are no closer to winning a premiership than we are.
If Wests Tigers can offload the players no longer needed and add 4-5 quality players along with retaining Stef, we will be ahead of the Bulldogs on the competition ladder, no doubt about it.

You know what I miss? I miss the days of being able to buy value-price props who will just go out there and be a bit of a mongrel. I mean the Shane Walker types, Jason Lowries, Skandos etc.

I'm a bit bored of all these extra-athletic young Goldilocks props who want a million bucks and can only perform if the conditions are just right. There's a dearth of solid tough props these days, to the point where even in Origin you have Blues picking Jurbo and Maroons picking Cotter (in fact they officially started Felise Kaufusi at prop in Game 3).

Because I was thinking about the Stefano money and would love if Tigers could just move on and instead buy two 400-500K no-nonsense props who will turn up every week, rip and tear, put a little fear into the opposition and just get a simple job done. Just a couple of mongrels to collect a decent paycheck and put in respectable performances every week.

I think this can happen. The Bulldogs this year have showed its more important to have the entire pack being ruthlessly committed rather then have so called high end talent in the front row.

I think if we can identify good character we can actually be a stronger pack next year. Hungry and committed will outplay talent everyday.

[Tito Santana]

Yawn. Stefano is shit

Hooper also said dogs haven't tabled an offer yet
but will for probably 650-700k, their cap wasn't
mentioned. Shit house facilities, a club that's having
their first peak after many years in the trough, he
would also be taking a huge pay cut just under 1m

He could be the man if he stays patient, it's crazy.

[Fish88]

Yeah he said a bit. Take it 4 what it's worth

- Melbourne don't have cap room 4 Stef. They're
talking to the NRL 2 get him under the cap

- Dogs interested, didn't mention their cap

- Bateman gone we have 1.3m cap room, Stef
goes we have a bit over 2 million in cap space

- We don't have many roster spots left next year

We are always shedding players, not replacing them but somehow also never have many roster spots. Our cap must be severely mismanaged.

4 sure. Richo has his sleeves rolled up getting dirty.
Some of the top 30's were made under Madge still.
Richo is having to reengineer everything bless him.
He has runs on the board though, and if you remember
he also mentioned on Jimmy Graham's pod that
the Tigers job is the easiest rebuild yet, souths was
the hardest because they had 2 start everything from
scratch and he ended up winning a premiership
for the club. I've got full confidence in what he's
doing 4 us, he has the hardest job in the league
by far. The lack of noise around the club is calming

[Kaito]

Hooper also claimed Bateman & Benji had a public
bust up over how senior players were treated, he
reckoned Bateman told Benji that he's treating the
junior players as seniors and the seniors like juniors
lmao. I don't know what to think about hooper's mail
but the junior players aren't the ones fluffing it up

Agree,
We have had a terrible run with injuries / Suspension and blooded a hell of lot on juniors..
Dogs brought a lot of semi experienced players and the refs have been very very fair with them this year..

We add Laui and lose some of the deadwood we are heading upwards and have a far better spine then them.

Is there an email address that anyone knows of for 360 to highlight this fact ?

Looking at the players going around- who would you think qualifies as this type of player?

I'd start a list with Hetherington, Horsburgh, Liam Knight, Jazz Tevega & Pasami Saulo. Mix in a bit of what we already have & add a dash of Pole, Sam & Sione Fainu...I think you get that type of forward pack, at half the cost. Not all these guys have to be regular 1st grade players. Let them earn that right. But they would toughen up both grades & make the younger guys earn their reps too.

[Squater]

I don’t know the bloke or what motivates him … Gould and the best coach in the game now rate him apparently…and it looks like they are still bidding against each other …

Stef is a very good player. But obviously doesn't want to play for us and I'm sure he has his reasons. He will play like a champion at storm or bulldogs because they have good players around him and working systems. They will not let him tank

Define not Knight or Tevega. Knight is running the ball extremely soft this year. Jazz I just don't rate.

I'm really not sure who is out there that would come and really put in. That would be up to the club to do their research into players. One player I have mentioned a lot is Ethan Bullemor. I think he would be a great replacement for Bateman.

Jack Williams another.

[BrissieTiger67]

You forgot the Pooper warning.

We might as well ask that Octopus that guesses FIFA matches if we are going to consider what Pooper thinks.

I checked and that octopus was pretty successful...

"In all, Paul amassed an overall record of 12 correct predictions out of 14: a success rate of approximately 85.7%."

Gee ...get that 8 legged weirdo kicking our goals 😆

He has worked the tigers out. 6 months in and already spruiking his importance. Surely he has 2 roster recycles and 4 coaches before his decision making and responsibility in the mess are called to account

The juniors are putting in.

The seniors are showing no effort.

[Odessa]

One could argue that cut the seniors not putting in and blood some of the younger players just to give them a taste of first maybe pick a few guys from the best juniors give them two games from the bench and one starting game

[Greek tiger]

I would hate if he goes to the dogs would much rather him go to the storm

[Telltails]

The juniors might be putting in but they don't make dominant tackles, they get out muscled and fatigued and are lucky to last 60 mins without capitulation.

Haha, damn, I sure hope not man...

My hate has shifted from Eels, then Panthers
and now the Buldogs under Gus/Laundy smh
