Cleaning out all this dead wood is great.

I'm very much on the side of getting rid of the deadwood, but I'm also not oblivious to the fact that the vacant spot filled by them should be replaced by 1) players who will play for the jersey (not these grubs) and 2) players who are going to work hard weekly and show their talent. Getting rid of these guys with no ready made replacements will be a step backwards

I just watched the game for the first time having read the forum. Bateman can just stop a team dead. Penalties on the fifth. Fail to wrap up ball as 3rd man in. Drop ball on first. Runs around like the proverbial headless chook.

I think it was said on Sen radio yesterday that for Bateman to be loaned to SL his current contract had to be torn up. And that he and the Tigers would decide what his future is in the off season. My thoughts are he won’t be back and if that’s true we’ve saved his money for the next 2 years.

If you got someone who works hard and is reliable in the Tom Eisenhuth mould (Former storm, current Dragons) in place of Bateman we'd be far better off, don't necessarily need to have a gamebreaker there, I think Samuela is developing into that role, just need someone who will do their job with minimal fuss or mistakes

Benji has got me more excited this week than I have in a long time. I love he has stood up to the senior guys.

Been getting a few tips from uncle Wayne , let them know who is boss and also let them know who is shit , no matter the age or games played , I like it

Wrong signing for the wrong job at the wrong time. We need leaders in senior positions. Even with Api who has been a wonderful signing doesn't seem that much of a leader to me. Definitely one of the best leaders we have had for a while but I don't know how much he pushes the boys to get the best out of them.

In terms of players coming here and not performing as well as before or players leaving and getting better at other teams, I am again putting down to not having good leaders. Of all the people that have left us and improved Aloiai, Matterson, Woods, Papenhuyzen, Papali'i, JAC, Brooks etc, I can't think of even one of them who has shown good leadership at their clubs. Tedesco is a clear exception and possibly up until this SOO, even Moses wasn't considered a good leader at Parra.

We need to hire senior players who aren't afraid of getting on the younger players' bad sides. Those who are relentless with their taining even if they don't perform that well in the games.

Tamou to me was a great signing but it just never worked out.

I'd give Luai co-captaincy and see if he can get the best out of these guys.
