Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The problem with the roster is juniors who aren’t ready are contracted to enter the top 30 for 2025. So the first 4 or 5 (I’m not clear on the actual number) roster spots we clear for next year go to juniors who simply aren’t ready and won’t be able to contribute in 2025.

I don’t know if this is the case for 2026 as well.

IF we sign 2 of either Nelson Asofa-Solomona, Royce Hunt and Daniel Saifiti.
Then sign Valentine Homes and either Reimis Smith or Jeral Skelton, along with the arrival of Jerome Luai and Sunia Turuva we in effect are much stronger than this season.
We also desperately need a right edge back rower to replace John Bateman and there is not really anyone available.

We should have had our own Mulitalo by now. Sharks recruited him at 16, developed him into a first grader and reapmthe benefits.
We haven't recruited a tall and fast winger in over a decade. That's why we don't have. We get recruitment completely wrong, and even when we get it right we manage to piss them off. Imagine if we kept Koroibete and JAC for the past decade?

Lol in our juniors and they're nearly all short and just above average pace. It doesn't matter where they come from, we need pace and a heck of a lot of it
Kepaoa and Talau come to mind, tall, fast but get crucified on here and leave. We tried.

Cobbo has allegedly been arrested in Brisbane. I don't know what for but the Integrity Unit has been informed. Just on Ch9.

Broncos forum advise has been arrested but not charged. It is a very sad story and the redemption can only be he joins a wealthy NRL club, gets new pegs, jacuzzi penthouse apartment, lifetime free al carte meals in an exclusive suburb. He will become the face of redemption in the NRL. The NRL will love it, his new club will love it and supporters like us will have to suck it up as usual after not being able to retain one of our few big name players.

Never understood how people can get their ego's so caught up in the fortunes/misfortunes of a group of players. It won't matter when your 30 seconds from drawing your last breath.
Its so engrained in society dating back from the Greeks and then Romans So deep that its a wrinkle in our brain. Aside from that it's a hope I guess in the dystopia we find the human race in right now apart from the elite who run the world and are happy with it. Until they are not Then they want new toys and start a war. The cycle continues. Dark Ages, Renaissance, Industrialisation and modernity. And a reflection of the Utoikamanu deflection.

An option for backrow is Jack Williams, off contract & was a backrower before being moved by Sharks to a middle utility. Won U20s POY as a backrower, very good defensively & deceptively powerful for his size (reportedly a leader in the weights room at Sharks). No star but a high effort high IQ role player.

I think you are going to be very disappointed come March 2025

So you haven't paid attention to the Olam situation. Never bite on any player Bellamy wants to get rid of. Identify a need in the roster and go for a player he wants hold onto.

Saifiti is same.
It’s a concern, but NAS looked as good as ever in his short time on the field against the Eels and did not look impressed when he was replaced.
Daniel Saifiti has started nearly every game this season for the Knights, so nothing wrong with his fitness and he looks be playing as well as ever. He is approaching 30 which is always a concern for NRL signings, but he’s a fit and mobile for a prop, never ever gets physically dominated and has a bit of footwork and a pass before the line in his game which is a bonus.
Royce Hunt is also approaching 30 but was late to make his mark at NRL, is in career best form and although dropped back to NSW Cup level this past weekend, the highlights showed him ripping and tearing and at his dominant best. Being dropped to NSW Cup would be the perfect time to pounce on him.
Ideally it would be great to have all 3 of them and release Klemmer, but I don’t think we would be able to offload Klemmer, so 2 of them would be sufficient.
