Listening to Richo talk compared to Pascoe & Lee on ask the boss is such a breath of fresh air. A clear plan is in place & there’s a clear emphasis on sticking to it no matter what happens which is great to hear. Also loved hearing him say that he needs to give Benji every tool to succeed in order for him to be successful.
I hope that means getting him an experienced assistant

I think we all needed to hear that and what a great man he is..

He has Proven this time after time he knows what is needed and I for one have full faith.

Some good points raised

  • Sound like a new signing is close
  • Only looking at 3 quality signings with the 2 mil so they should be decent by the sounds of it
  • there will be quite a few changes happening with in next 6-8 weeks
  • Players that are injured or need surgery won't be allowed to do rep games - 100% agree
  • He even slipped our offer to Stefo was a bit high by the sounds of it and he seems fine he is going
  • Benji - He is very happy with Benji as he as the hard conversations and not just say he will
  • Sounds like they have told Bateman if he wants to come back, he will need to pull his socks up and I don't think he will so goodbye.
  • Has had upfront conversation with the players and Managers that are NOT a part of the future.

Just a very positive update we all needed to hear.

He is 100% right in that we just need to cut the deadwood and sign a few decent players and all need to dig in as a team for it to work.. The best player for this is Laui and he will be our Batman
So to bring in 3 quality players means we need to clear 3 spots in roster which I gather will be in that 6-8 week period he mentioned.

Stef is 1 but let’s say we re-sign Sione Fainu with that spot.

So the 3 most likely on the outer are Tumeth, Sullivan & Naden. Tumeth languishing in Flegg, whist Bud & Naden haven’t made our 22 the past 2 weeks which is quite revealing.

If Bud digs his heals in, we probably don’t take up the option with Sezer. So it’s one of Bud or Sezer who goes.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Naden finds his way to Rabbits.

I’m hoping a few more than that got the tap, there’s a hell of a lot of rubbish in our roster that needs recycling.♻️

Yep used it multiple times in podcast & his Ch 9 interview with Weidler. What do you reckon he means by it? Fighting to the death or killing the weak or a new wrestling manoeuvre???
I reckon he used it once & it got stuck in his head & couldn't get it out so it just kept falling out.

First time I heard it I thought "ok, weird analogy" then he said it like 5 times in a minute & I'm like "has he lost a bet with Benji here?"

For those who think that success is only attained by having the cattle, I give you one word..Angus. Follow his career from being dropped to Reggie’s, to being awarded the Wally Lewis medal, and tell me no coaches were involved in his form reversal?
Were his physical attributes and Mental desire to be the best coached into him. Of coarse.
Or maybe it was his wife or the mortgage that did the coaching, turned things around, who knows?

Well does every tool include, signing some players , because all I see is a one way door , plenty leaving but nothing coming .

Agree. What are the odds for Newcastle Jets picking up the spoon 24/25?

I have a feeling that Faagutu might be another one that makes way and frees up a spot for 2025. Richo spoke about knowing after 7/8 games which juniors and other players are worth keeping etc... Well Fa'agutu had 1 or 2 early games in Cup and has been down in Flegg since. I don't feel like he has been given too much of a shot (even Aho and Herman got called up agead of him) even with the poor form of players in Cup. I would like us to keep him as I see upside in him, but I have a feeling it will go a different way.

Listened to the Podcast, he has been successful at other clubs, and they are implementing a plan, which is great, and he doesn't hide its going to take time. He knows what we need and they are not going out and rushing to buy anyone or pay overs, that's a good sign. I think he is going to be very good for the club.

We don't know what negotiations are happening. Richardson has said he undertakes talks in private. That means there will be no or few leaks to the media. So not hearing word of player negs. does not mean they are not happening. I am happy to see what eventuates. I have a feeling it will be good.

I agree with this which is a bit unfortunate considering how good this young kid is. He was one of our highly touted juniors we signed and imo we have used him poorly the past couple years. He came down to us having already debuted in QCup and what did we do? Put him in SG Ball and then off the bench last year for Flegg with one game for cup. This year dominant in Flegg, shaky start to his first KOE which imo he made up for in his 2nd game with his defence, played 10mins in his last game for Cup, moved to Ron Massey which he dominated now back in Flegg. Obviously injuries and suspension has plagued the last month but I feel we have chosen more of our local juniors over him and he’s meant to be in our Top 30 next year? by the looks of it he’ll be on the outer with us considering he’ll be able to negotiate from Nov 1.
