Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

What if behind the scenes, stef wanted to go penrith so they’ve done a deal to give us bizza and that’s why they’ve gotten Blaize who would be a lot cheaper on the wing. Penrith lost a bit upfront in the forwards and salary cap wise are tight. Could be good business.
Why is there talk of swaps with other clubs and deals etc, Stefs clause kills his contract this year. What am I missing?

They’re losing around $2.5m of players, I don’t think their salary cap is as tight as people think + Stef Is a free agent we aren’t getting anything in return for him

Because it could be possible that this has been going on for quite some time, and us letting Ice leave a year early is all part of this. It was just done over a long period to escape detection from the media.
Which could also involve Stef going there as well with Talagi.

So has Shaun "No Brain" Lane, was killing it last year.e mix
Let’s to this into the mix , the slimmmy eels have had there number one play maker out for must of the season , so here’s what we have had to put up with for years NO playmaker , good players don’t just fall off , given we are getting a gun 1/2 next year , we need to give him some forwards to work with , because it can go both ways

The only thing i want to hear from Richo next is how he has secured Onitoni Large, Ashton Large, Heamasi Makasini on long term contracts.

Having watched all of them play on a school boy level. I think Makasini should be top priority. His ball running and playing skills stand out on the field.
Im not angry if they get poached to union because you can't really match that. I have heard Onitoni is keen and interested in union. But also the brother connection works if we lock down Onitoni Ashton will follow. But the big talking point at Scots is that Ashton is miles better than Onitoni. Ashton being an out and out 9 whilst Onitoni can play anywhere in the backs could prove more valuable. Onitoni's build also very versatile being quite tall but large and strong (no pun intended). But i would prefer to see both Makasini and Onitoni in the centres over Mason. Just sheer size and talent both Makasini and Onitoni beat Mason. I believe the tigers will have a strong eye on both due to the horrible lack of centres in the top 30. Having a long term centre is something the tigers haven't had since Simona.
Tigers have a stack of good quality 9s coming through with Haywood and Da silva. I haven't seen enough out of Haywood to make a good assumption or opinion but he makes the rep teams. But he has played a bit of Flegg this year so maybe the club doesn't see him as favourably as Da Silva.
I would hate to see any of them go but we might need to face that reality ...

Stefano and Talagi are off contract - there's no need for them to swap anything for them.

Dylan Walker, Royce Hunt & Whatever outside back we end up with makes a pretty good side. Probably short 1 more good middle & whatever happens with Bateman, most likely gone we snap up another back rower.

1. Bula
2. Turuva/Staines
3. Outside back*
4. Olam/Douiehi
5. Staines/Laulilii
6. Galvin
7. Luai
8. Pole
9. Korosaui
10. Klemmer
11. Bateman?
12. Sam Fainu
13. Dylan Walker
14. Da Silva/Latu Fainu
15. Twal
16. Seyfarth
17. Royce Hunt

Still a few fringe players if required including Sione Fainu etc...

Some largely unknown forwards that I think could do a job next year: No superstars but all good work rate forwards with limited opportunities where they are currently.
Kurt De Luis, Hohepa Puru, Mason Teague, Kalani Going.

We are in big shit , buying 3 backs means we don’t have enough cap to buy any forwards and let’s face it our pack is useless and the kids don’t offer anything , so we will end up in the same spot , LAST
We don’t have room for all the personnel we need, but we need about 3 backs and 3 forwards.
There’s ya 3 backs, with the current market they’d be pretty good.

This isn’t the first poor season Lane has had at Parra…
