Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Is Richo on the phone with any player managers? I am so [This word has been automatically removed]ing worried about 2025, let alone an inevitable spoon this year. Bateman, Stefano and Papali'i all leaving and while they've all been underwhelming on different levels, replacing them with juniors who aren't ready for first grade will be a disaster. If you go through our lineup there is about 5 or 6 guys who are not first graders and wouldn't start at any other team. We should just fold

They not only wouldn’t start, they wouldn’t even be signed by another team.

id argue the doogs were worse then us this time last year

luai will be fine, he'll back himself to transform the team, unlike our pillow prop who just left
They were 15th. They were underperforming, but that's because they were bunch of individuals not delivering. Our team's roster is genuinely awful, and our best player is regressing fast. It is only young guys coming through who provide any hope of getting out of this situation

Ciraldo saw it clear as day when choosing between the Tigers and the Dogs.

Kotoni Staggs high on my shopping list. We need
to sit tight. Plenty of players 2 b squeezed out soon
There must be a question mark over Cobbo at least in the short term. This would make it almost impossible to recruit Staggs from the Broncos or even ahead of other Qld clubs.

I'm no rocket scientist in saying our defence on the edges needs to be a high priority in the pre-season & recruitment/retention.

If we do recruit a centre/wing & backrow, it is imperative they are good defensively and have the experience to communicate effectively to his team mates around him.

That is why a Jack Williams recruited as backrower primarily & a Reimis Smith makes sense.

Both starting props played 50 minutes to Api's 80 minutes, so there is that.

Klemmer defended well, again. There's just a narrative around here that he isn't putting in.
When Benji takes Klem and Stef off knights score most of their tries.
They’re only ”not putting in” while getting cold on the bench for about 30 mins. I can see Stef is not happy with this and he showed it by his first carry skittling about 4 defenders. 2 plays later we’re in for a try. People just don’t want to see the positives because it’s too painful knowing he’s leaving and will wipe the floor with us when we play Storm.
