Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

TPJ signed with Catalans. before you blast the club at least get your facts right.
You are a bit late sport, and even if I was wrong about the Tevita thing, if you read the information on the forum on here you would have seen my correction about that about 7 messages ago, but my criticism of the club still stands.

for so long we’ve wanted the leaks to be plugged because we were sick of constantly having confidential information coming out of the club.

those leaks get plugged and things go quiet and suddenly we’re blowing up?

I’m as frustrated as the next person but if you don’t think Richardson and Marshall aren’t working tirelessly to fix this abysmal roster I can’t help you.

Benji has got many things wrong, but putting faith in Galvin is not one of them.
Galvin has without any shadow of doubt regularly been in our top 3-5 players all season, fine tuning his kicking game is the only real concern.
Needs to also straighten the attack.

He looks like Benji at times, running across the field and taking the space of his outside men.

I will agree he has been good. With better players around him & a coach that can develop him he will be a star.

I don't particularly have a strong opinion on this, but what would you do if we signed Christian Welch. Injury-prone, old and perhaps a massive risk. But also a guy who sets standards on and off the field from a great system. Wouldn't ask for big money too. Maybe I'm just crazy but he wouldn't be a bad signing on a 2 year deal imo on low money. After getting rid of some experienced players in the forwards in bateman, stefano, papali'i and no doubt klemmer soon enough, an experienced forward and leader could be what's needed. Pole and Twal won't be doing any heavy lifting by themselves

Needs to learn how to tackle. Missed Frizell twice when he scored

We need to be real. The kid missed any form of adult preparation footy and has skipped into first grade before he has finished his body development.

Add to this his practices benchmark each week is his own team mates and it’s easy to see why he makes defensively bad decisions/efforts at times. We don’t need exactly have big bodies, fast running or numbers at the line attackers.

He then had a new combo outside of him most weeks majority of which aren’t even nsw cup standard.

Not saying he shouldn’t be better but we also need to be real that Benji and the coaching staff are more to blame than Galvin is.

It's been said that we might be looking at him.I don't mind it.

From the weekend:
- 55 Minutes played
-14 Hitups
- 136 meters
- 56 Post contact metres
- 3 Tackle breaks
- 23 Tackles
- 3 missed tackles
- 1 error

It's not ground breaking. But on the cheap with the Eels paying part of his contract.... it makes sense.

He's had 941 post contact metres for the year and 11 offloads. Averages 11 hit ups a game (a few more id be happy)

That's better than Stef and Klemmer.

So there's the Stef replacement (we aren't talking about potential, but what he did for us).

We work on Johannsen and Fainu and hopefully both pay dividends, and all of a sudden things are looking up?
