Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

This forum has reached an all time low. So Benjis a racist! But only to some and not others. Give me a break. The most powerful card in the deck is the race card. Playing it in public on the say so of some disgruntled ex footballer is pretty low.

I can’t stop people posting crap but I can stop reading it so I’m out.

I wish all the decent posters all the best and keep fighting the good fight and to all the trolls and
keyboard warriors seriously have a good look at yourself. You must be so proud.

So there seems to be a few cards ready to fall, but cap space is an issue...

Val Holmes to St George- Cowboys NEED Holmes off the books. Dragons want Holmes on theirs. Holmes is now suggesting he'd like to stay in NQ.

RCG to Cowboys- Cowboys need to move Holmes to afford RCG. If Holmes won't go, who else can they shift?

Holmes to Roosters- this is Val's rumoured preferred destination, but Roosters need to clear cap space to do so. Cheese on the move? Who needs a hooker- oh, Parramatta..

Horsburgh to Bulldogs- latest rumour, St George was leading but looks like the Bulldogs are leading now.

Newcastle need to move Siafiti, Hetherington- I don't know WHY, but both have been told they can look elsewhere. Who do they have lined up?

Sharks still need to move someone to make room for Fonua-Blake

Utoikamanu & now this All Black guy to the Storm- they will need to fit these under their cap without losing anybody????

The Bateman situation for next year is still confusing.

His latest statements sound relatively positive about returning.

IF HE DOES RETURN- he's on the books, so where do you play him? I think it has to be #13. If we can't move Bateman on, I think the club should try to add a dynamic back rower like Sam Fainu (like Fainu- I didn't say same quality etc). I'm noticing teams getting bigger metres out of wide running forwards than middles. Also, having that dynamic threat running off Galvin & Luai on the edges makes our shifts quite dangerous. Ideally- a guy that likes running the inside angle.

Did West Tigers recruitment team do their homework on Bud Sullivan before they rushed out and signed him?? No is the answer because if they did, they would have realized Bud is nothing more than a overrated inconsistent footballer and nothing will change that.
They did their usual recruitment homework of reading the Daily Telegraph, watching the players YouTube highlight reel and one time at band camp he had a decent game against us.
Similar to the medical review for Olam.

Literacy is your friend...

Sullivan was signed by the OLD REGIME - and Olam was medically assessed...

If he had an ACL rupture - he would not have played ONE game this year!!

He's not as tough as @happy_tiger who was both playing (touch footy - that is) plus climbing gum trees to retrieve all those bombs - AND flipping burgers.... before a real doctor rode into Gladstone!

They saved you a spot on the right Hap!

WTF!!!!
We need more leb influence, gets things done.
We can start affording players like Moses because we give him 900 on the books but his wife will get a 300k job managing vendors at Balmain leagues etc
Matt Burton can open up a catering company that leases to club etc

This is lebanese ideas
Tell me how to exploit a 5 metre short-side corridor when playing 12 on 13 again coach....

Or maybe...

Tell me about it. A few on here. You're amongst it. Getting the pretend Goss from your Lebanese mates proves nothing. We need to get rid of the Lebanese influence at the club, it's almost destroyed the Balmain Tigers and offered zero benefit to WT too
Not racist at all....

Maybe judge individuals on merit NOT your prejudiced BS!

Not all Lebs are dodgy- just 100% of property developers and some "aspiring coaches" on social media....

I hope thatl Richo & Benji's secret signings are real good ones.

Because South's have just signed TEVITA PANGAI JUNIOR.
Seems every club is signing someone worthwhile while we are signing players from inside our club that have already collected three wooden spoons, and lower grades more of the same even our Women are keeping up with the men.
Dennis, I do not expect to be disappointed when the re-signing and signings are announced. I'd rather be waiting for announcements from Richardson than under the previous administration. Richardson just has that air of confidence/knowledge about him. I believe the wait will be worth it.

I'm sorry you are leaving as I have always enjoyed reading your posts. I have noticed the uptick in combative posts no doubt due to the results this year. I hope you will reconsider your decision.

Yeah - Galvin is the problem on the left edge...

How bad is that. He did it from the first time the Knights went his side and continued all game. I was floored watching it.

You know what, the worst thing isn't how far he came up, it's that he came up and was also passive. You don't shoot out of the line and be passive, if you shoot out of the line you whack someone. At least give them something to think about.
What on earth were Morris the defence coach and Benji doing allowing this to happen all game?

Due to misinformation and agendas masquerading as opinions would be my guess - and I don't blame him at all!

Mods do a great job - but there is only so much you can do with the middle-aged chimps throwing shit just because they are butt-hurt and want success NOW!!!

The idea of Bateman at lock makes a lot of sense on paper. He really should be able to nail that spot in the modern game. Good leg speed, high work rate, defensively strong, has skill. Ticks all the boxes really. However every time he has played 13 it's been a disaster. He ruins our halves by being very clunky in his link play and his leg speed has zero effect through the middle for some reason and he gets dominated when running the ball. It would solve so many problems if he could live up to his rep and nail that 13 role, but he has struggled more there than on an edge

They say that now
But if they really want him off the books they'll contribute something.
BUT "Parra" said it...

NOT just some bullshit that GNR read from a non-credible media source!

Believe the man - he knows his shit!

Campbell Gillard available $ 750 current deal
Parra will move him on and drop us I would say $ 50 k so $ 700 for him is a way better deal than the offer for Stef
Hopgood is another I would chase , and Lane cheap would also be ok additions , , but the prop up top is where I would go
