Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Considering we’re now certainties for the spoon, would really like to see Galvin move to the right side for the remainder of the year as that is where he will inevitably play next year. Same goes for Douiehi to the right as - hopefully - Olam will be fit next year on the left.

I’ve only seen Skelton and Staines play right side - with Turuva on the left at the moment. So I would think that makes it more likely it’s either Skelton or Staines next year and not both (though one could switch sides).

Considering Skelton isn’t the fastest player, makes me wonder if To’a is a good chance at right centre if we get no more signings with Douiehi and Staines as depth.

We really need one more back.
I would be going after Lehi Hopoate, Grant Anderson, Tyran Wishart or Sam Stonestreet for their versatility and value

We need 2 brand new starting props and a lock forward. I’m looking at Corey Jensen, Max King no nonsense huge workrate would never let you down! Even NAS for upside play him in the backrow would be such a threat. Hopgood, Erin Clark, Tevaga or Kurtis Morrin for lock forward!

In an IDEAL world this is the type of team I’d aim for 1-13. Also think Turuva offers more at FLB than Bula who can use his leap for bombs in the centres! 🔥

1. Turuva
2. Skelton
3. Bula
4. Olam
5. Hopoate/Anderson/Stonestreet
6. Galvin
7. Luai (c)
8. Jensen
9. Api
10. King
11. Fainu
12. NAS
13. Hopgood/Clark/Tevaga/Morrin

Is this for 2025 or 2026 ?

I think there's a lot of assumption on the things Tucker says. He's never said Galvin isn't a good player. Just questions if 5/8 is his best spot. Can't say I disagree, but I can say that just abusing someone because you assume he thinks different is a little unfair.

His question of where would you play him is fair? If you think he's a great 5/8- cool.

I will say- Galvin in the centres gives the option of moving Latu Fainu into the squad & potentially removes Board Villain Doueihi from the starting side...so there's that.

Remembering that Fittler, Daley & more recently Burton all started part of their careers largely in the centres before becoming legendary 5/8's (not Burton yet, obviously). So there is some historical relevance.

I am not because you are not right

I have said and will continue to say that Latu if given the chance is and will be better then Galvin

Is that to say that Galvin hasn’t been great this year? No

Look if we are talking about what Galvins best position is that is still up for discussion

But if you wanna question if he has been a good 5/8 this year that right there is not up for discussion

I would say for an 18 year old who had never played flegg at the start of the year
4 tries
11 try assits
8 forced drop outs
92.5% tackle efficiency
And over 100 running and kicking meters on average a game is pretty good
He has run the second worst attack in the comp this year and the 7th worst attack in Wests Tigers history.
He gets lost in defence constantly, he is too weak to bring down proper men, therefore is targeted. He runs across field a lot cramping his outside men and he dies with the ball a lot as he hasnt the speed to run around most and gets caught.
His team has come last. Would things be different with someone else in 5/8? We made him sit out one game and we won it.....

Yes he did.

And you called him dumb & a troll because of it.

If you do think so- great. More power to you. Some people think different- that's cool. I don't think anybody says Galvin is rubbish.

Picking the question apart- has Galvin been a good rookie? Or has he been a good 5/8? I mean, we are a pretty poor attacking team across the board.

Do you think he has been great at 5/8 this year?
Explain yourself without trying to attack someone else's opinion.
I think he has been very good for a 18 year old kid thrown into FG earlier than he and we would have expected. I believe next year with Luai beside him we will see him get better as he will learn from one of the best and be shown how to close out the games which could have seen us win a few extra games this year alone. The effort from Galvin cannot be questioned and he has the will to win along with the experience gained this year should prime him and a few other of the young kids for a solid pre-season and 2025 season.

It has been another tough season but I personally believe we are headed in the right direction and need to secure the good crop of juniors ( Large, Makasini, Galvin , TDS ) along with the Fainu's and Bula and the future looks bright. The addition of some solid FG players like Jack Williams and some hard running props will see us improve and then the NRL and Media can get off our backs.

Apparently Galvin should be playing in the centres so Sezer can stay in the halves hahahahahaha
