From Batemans comments, the Galvin saga with parents and managers and comments from Benji and Galvin.... I think he's got it locked up. That jersey is his and if it isn't, he's leaving.

I think the arrival of Luai will see a few thing improve.

Alas, looking at the top 30... it's full.
That's without including Sione Fainu [off contract] and Faatape [development contract]

I think the ones we need to leave are quite obvious and there's 5 of them....

1] John Bateman
2] Jayden Sullivan
3] Justin Matamua
4] Brandon Tumeth
5] Brent Naden

What did Bateman say, ive seen a few people mention it but never actually heard the comments, i take it they were bridge burning?

Of the list to go i reckon thats pretty spot on id just have Tumeth and Naden up the order with Matamua dropping down. I'd also throw Kit into the conversation with Lobb.

We dont follow the blue prints of the top squads.
Galvin touches the ball a lot...way more than his halves partners.

He's just turned 19 and playing with full grown men. What he has showed for his age is incredible. He has energy. He takes the line on. He looks dangerous. He creates space. He's got a good combination with Sam fainu going that's only going to get better. With some training he will be one of the better kickers in the game. There's work to do in defence, but again he's only 18. He will get bigger and better each year.

He is a 6. He wants to play 6.

If we put him into the centres then we say goodbye to him at the end of 2026.

If we were the Roosters, the halves pairing of Galvin and Luai would be the talk of the town..

We should be building the club around these two and the crop of juniors we have.

You're entitled to your opinion, but mine is the club will never win a premiership with Sezer at 7. On the other hand, we are a chance with Galvin at 6 and Luai at 7.

Agreed but he has been the only constant with Sullivan, Sezer and Latu in the 7 due to injury, form, suspension so I would suggest he has been told to run it by the rookie coach.
Next year he will be less as Luai will demand the ball more.

Bateman will be back, hopefully refreshed we need
him at second row, he'll play better with new structure

The 91% tackle efficiency is actually poor for a prop. Yes fatigue could be a factor and the accompanying running metres are very good but you'd be hard pressed finding a prop with lower tackle efficiency. As an example our own Jordan Miller, widely and rightly criticised for not yet being up to it in defence has a 91.5% tackle efficiency.

I see your point about having been a part of the Storm system and having played under some very good coaches. The reverse of that is also true. He has been considered surplus to requirements at each club he has played for. I'm not even sure he has ever even been offered an extension by any of his clubs since reaching first grade?, Rather always just told to look elsewhere.

That's fair enough too. I'd argue the 91% efficiency, given the minutes played, is being brushed aside a little too easily though.

In the last few weeks the forum has wanted Royce Hunt (39 minutes his longest playing stint all season- 88% tackle efficiency), NAS (Roughly 30-40 minutes a game, 90% efficiency), Willison (between 20-40 minutes a game @ 94% efficient) & RCG (50-60 minutes a game at 88% efficient). All these guys play lower minutes & outside of Willison- worse tackling efficiency.

There are very, very few middles that play 80 minutes with this kind of return- admittedly at a lower level.

I'm just saying- he'd be a fairly easy get, not breaking the bank, and for fairly low risk.

You could use the 3 wins from 19 against any player and say they havent been effective.

You can do better than that.

Well pretty much every Rugby League expert has commented on how good of a job he’s been doing at 5/8 & how he will be a star there for years to come but yes there is more substance to your opinion & you are right as always.

That should leave us versus Roosters for a quality strike centre (add potentially Taylan May to the list down-the-track).

There were rumblings a couple of months ago that Averillo was homesick & now with Junior Tupou going that way, maybe he would be a better value signing. We can send To'a to the Dolphins as a sign of goodwill.
